  1. Just looking for routine service. I'll do a search. You don't happen to know the name of the shop do you? Thanks.
  2. I like to know if anyone has some solid experience with a good independent mechanic in the Boulder/ Denver /front range Colorado area. Like everyone else I'm looking for someone who does a great job for a reasonable price. I know, Iknow, .... but they are around. I certainly have one for our Volvo, just need one for the Lexus. Thanks.
  3. I dont own a gs, but an older ls400 and I have noted in that forum that the tire purchase can make all the difference in the world. Tires have come a long way in recent years and it really pays to research them. I read the consumer reviews at tirerack.com- I don't think you can beat the collective opinions of people who actually own the tires. After there are at least 20 or 30 of them or so, I think you can get a rough idea of what the tires are like. My primary concern is quietness, since I drive like a geezer. I can tell you that switching from an expensive performance tire to Yokohama avid v4s was like turning off a blender in the car's interior. What a difference. Since then I put Goodyear triple treads on my wife's Volvo x/c 70 based on the collective opinions of other owners and again what a difference from the previous oem tires. I think they are even quieter than the Yokohamas. I've got enough mileage on both sets of tires at this point to be satisfied that this is the way they are, and they seem to handle fine to me. Just my 2 cents, but I think it would be worth your time to get the right rubber.
  4. I'm looking for quality independent Lexus service at a reasonable price in Colorado. Preferably the Denver/Boulder area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have to agree- I've been running the Yokohama AvidV4S for awhile now and they have been excellent. They are V-rated and appear to be wearing well so far. I find them to be particularly quiet. They less than $75 at Tirerack for 225-60-16.
  6. How does one go about cleaning the filters? Are they easy to get at. Thanx.
  7. What a terrific forum this lexusownersclub is, I finally had to break down and join. My two cents on tires is this (at least for a 93 ls400) I had Pirellis on and when it came time to change, I researched the heck out of tirerack.com. I bought Yokohamas Avid V4s. They are V rated, relatively cheap (Discount Tire beat the tire rack price- about $400 out the door) but more more than that, they are QUIET at least so far they are- about 2500 miles. They are also rated as a very long wearing tire. Rather than take my word for it, I would go to the customer survey results at tirerack.com and compare them to other tires in the category. Also compare them to the Michelins. Comparatively speaking, I feel like I'm driving my living room.
