  1. In my opinion, just another stupid design by Lexus. I never even took the cap off my driver door, I just noticed it missing one day. It fell off going down the road. Purchased a new one online for around $5. Seriousy, who thought of this design?
  2. IF you STILL haven't had the dealer install the cap cover yet, the following will help. Examine the back of the cap cover, and you will see TWO protruding hook-like plastic tabs towards the top, and one plastic tab towards the bottom. Place the cap cover STARTING from the top, making sure that the two hook - like plastic tabs HOOK onto the corresponding sites on the keyhole area. Note that there is perhaps a 2 to 3 millimeter gap between the cap cover edge and the door handle (ie, if you align the cap cover too close to the door handle, it will NOT snap into place). Once you have the top part of the cap cover "hooked on" (again with a 2 to 3 mm. gap from the door handle), press down the bottom part of the cap cover, and its bottom tab will snap into place :)
  3. I had the exact same issue. My gas cap was attached with a plastic strap-like connector. I had to take that off. It was tangling behind the gas tank cover and wouldn't allow the cover to pop open on it's own. Have never had another problem.
  4. Lexus, by no means, makes a "perfect" car. I've replaced rotors and brakes several times on my ES350. I don't drive like a maniac. My ES350 has been a constant source of issues ever sine I purchased it. Not happy with this car at all. Lexus needs to step it up.
  5. I hope you have better luck with your '07 ES350 than I have had in the past years. I'm ready to dump Lexus. I experienced the exact same issues. When I test drove the car it seemed fine. Not sure if it was due to the excitement of driving the car that lead me to miss some things or what.....Driving the car home from the dealer my wife and I noticed the "shake"....I just put my third set of tires on this car, have had numerous alignments, wheel balances.....Lexus tried the "road forced balance" crap. It was all hype to me. The car STILL shakes. The shake was actually WORSE after I took it to the dealer. It has improved dramatically with the Michelin's that I recently had installed but the vibration is still there. I first start to get it around 40-45 and then it is more pronounced again around 75-80. This car has ALWAYS given me the shakes. It's annoying as hell and I have been looking at Mercedes. This ES350 was my second Lexus and in my view Lexus is still in the pursuit of perfection. Not perfect by a long shot. I'm done vibrating down the road.
  6. Please do not put Yoko's on your Lexus ES350. I just ran thru a set with only 26K miles on them. They were crap. Replaced with Michelin MXM4. My son said I was crazy to spend so much but I am glad I did.... Ride improved 100%.
  7. Just purchased Michelin Primacy MXM4's....just put on yesterday. I replaced Yok's that were crap. I can't believe the difference in the ride. Absolutely, Primacy! I couldn't find them at a local tire dealer so I purchased them online at Discount Tire Direct. Good Luck!
