  1. I bought the same model and options plus the mats, cargo net, etc. in Dec. I paid $35200 if that helps.
  2. The 3rd day I took my new car out it got 3 dings! I couldn't believe it. However, when you purchase the car they offer ding protection for 3 years. I then bought it for 5 years. They took out the dings, put some kind of protective coating on which they do every year, and I can bring it back whenever it gets another ding. Ironically, of course it is 4 months later and there have been no new dings, but you never know. I don't regret buying the ding and windshield protection.
  3. I would have loved the luxury package. I didn't realize how much I missed the features until I didn't have them. I just took them for granted. However, I never saw it available from the NJ dealers.
  4. Thanks, the service advisor had a similar theory although the battery is fully charged! He is researching it further. He suggested braking earlier before the bottom of the hill. If I almost stop 6 feet beforehand it doesn't jump, but this isn't real practical when I'm rushing to work. In fact, my battery is almost always charged (green). Believe it or not the cracks and holes span the whole width of the car so that it is both front wheels that are going over the holes and cracks. By the way the holes aren't deep--about 2 inches.
  5. I'm glad I'm not the only one. The dealer is researching the problem, but Lexus will have to come up with the fix. Since moving isn't an option I need a "fix".
  6. Wow! I had no idea those windshields were that expensive. Since we have $1000 deductible that hurts! Interesting tidbit, when I purchased my new IS in December they had an extra package that covered all dings and the windshield. I wasn't going to purchase it, but the 3rd day I took that little car out it got 3 dings! So I decided to buy it and of course I haven't had any new dings now. However, they put on some kind of protective coating on and in the car and the windshield which is supposed to help. I'm sure they sell it now for the RX400, too, but mine is now almost 2.5 years old.
  7. Does anyone else experience their RX400 "jumping" or lurching over the smallest holes or cracks in the road while coasting or braking? It drives me crazy and I have a problem at the bottom of the hill near my street. There is a Stop sign and when I try to stop the car it lurches into the intersection instead. Since I need to use this street several times a day it is a problem. The dealer readjusted the skid control, but it isn't helping.
  8. I didn't order it, but after I got my car I wished I had the seat memory. This is the only car in the house that everyone drives and now we're doing it manually. It came standard on a 99 RX! I also found out that I was so accustomed to the automatic wipers that at times I was using the wipers and it wasn't raining any longer. Sad.
  9. I could not register to view these. They said it was an invalid referrer.
  10. It is the one option of the luxury package I wanted. However, I couldn't justify spending that much for one major option. The other is the rain sensing wipers. Ironically, Lexus gave the seat memory as standard all the way back as '99 on my RX. I got so spoiled with the rain sensing wipers I almost forgot how to adjust them.
  11. I have an old RX, too and the backup lights aren't great. I probably just got used to it. However, when I got the 2008 IS I couldn't believe how bright the lights were; especially in the back up camera!
  12. I really have no gripes or complaints. For the size car that it is, I think it drives well. However, this is my second RX and I missed driving a car. We bought the IS just to have a car to drive. It's zippier and more nimble. The RX is a whole lot quieter, smoother, etc. Both have convienences, the back-up camera on the IS is much brighter and the navigation clearer. But, it's a newer model.
  13. I have left my car for over a week with no problem. However, when we were going away for over a month they suggested we disconnect the battery. They showed me how, and I reconnected it when we returned. The battery was fine, but the settings for windows, roof, etc. had to be reprogrammed. However, this took about 5 minutes at the dealer who did it right away free of charge.
  14. It was recommended that I disconnect my battery while we were away for over a month last summer. When we returned I reconnected everything but I couldn't control windows roof, etc. I called up the dealer who said they needed to restore the settings. They took me right away and I was out in 7 minutes. Of course no charge.
  15. I actually just signed the papers to buy another Lexus from Warnock's yesterday. They matched the price from Prestige and I love their service. If you have an doubt about the service Myles (service advisor) is extremely nice and Honest.
  16. Warnock Lexus is a terrific dealer including the service. I don't know if they have the cheapest prices but in the long run they always stand behind you and throw in things that other dealers just charge. I've been dealing with them for 9 years.
  17. I couldn't figure how to transfer my phone numbers, but it kept the phone numbers including the one touch from my old RAZr. The iPhone also rings from the phone itself, unlike my Razr.
  18. Be sure to fill out the follow up survey honestly. I'd try the other dealer, or tell them that you might have to use the other dealer. My sympathies. If its any consolation I discovered a flat tire when my car was parked on the top floor of the hotel garage in Philly when it was a week old. Towing service didn't even want to tackle getting up there with the truck. The man walked to the top floor with the tools! They were good about coming to my rescue so I could drive back to NJ.
  19. Hopefully you have another Lexus dealer in the vicinity! Alas, PA is a large state with many areas probably not near a Lexus dealer. Years ago I had an Acura and when the dealer found out I was traveling to rural PA with a potential problem they told me to get it fixed in NJ first! My dealer has many loaner cars.
  20. I agree. I only need to service mine about 2-3 times a year. Yes, it cost more than the local shop, but I know that they check everything. They've replaced batteries that weren't working properly on my old RX, and when the transmission acted up at 60,000 miles they changed many things before it was finally determined that it was the transmission, and then they replaced the transmission for free. They said it was no problem because they knew I had always taken care of the car. There was also the mysterious check engine light issue which turned out to be a rodent made a nest in the car and ate through many electrical wires which all had to be replaced. They covered that, too. If you spend the $ to buy the car, and care about it being safe and in good condition, then the piece of mind knowing that it is in top shape is worth it to me.
  21. After establishing a relationship with the dealer they do a lot of that stuff for free. It may be that some suburban Lexus dealers are more "friendly" than others.
  22. I've only made calls from the 1 touch push button screen so far. It didn't ask me anything. I'll try other numbers. Sometimes when it connects I get this loud buzz (once) sound but not always. By the way, before the iPhone came out I asked Lexus how to do everythig and they said it was too new and they had no experience. They said to check with Let's Talk which has nothing on their website about the iPhone.
  23. Weird. I never had alignment problems but my Goodyears just didn't last long. They wore perfectly evenly. I have the Alenzas (about 1000 miles) and I haven't noticed any problems.
  24. I ended up bringing the phone to the dealer and they paired it with the bluetooth system. They said that they didn't know how to transfer the phone numbers. However, surprise, surprise. I tried to transfer the numbers but couldn't find the place to send them from the iPhone, but for some reason my old programming stayed in the car and the numbers work! Even the 1 Touch numbers! Go figure.
  25. Does anyone know how to pair the iPhone and transfer numbers into the '06 RX400h?
