  1. ok... folks... now i'm completely lost... and angry... just took her to a gas station after cleaning stuff up... ran fine... a gas station only about 15 blocks away. after pumping some gas i got i started her up and she f..king died!!! i started up only with pressing a gas pedal a few times, so after rpms went down to 1k or so i took off and she kept driving with some hesitation. As soon as I got home, she worked fine... WTF?! At a gas station it cranked just fine... except the dying part... I am too *BLEEP*ed off right now... The battery seems to be fine, alternator seems to be working ok around my house and in my garage... it's not even funny to me anymore... i'm losing sense of humor now... She worked great before I changed a filter on the her and rewired cornering lights while throwing the hot wire to them from my parking lights (but either one of these wouldn't affect anything that is going on with my baby right now)... I already put original filter back on her... i'm losing my mind... i'm ready to set her on fire...
  2. Holy sh.t!!! I just got back home while on the way stopped by a Lexus dealer. The guy at a parts department said that the alternator could go bad, but before I bought the new alternator recommended to buy the set of brushes for it. He said that some greese, crap might get into my alternator it might just acting out. I got home, my neighbor came over with his tester. I charged up my battery a bit. Put in my baby and I didn't bother tightenning up the contacts on the battery. It freaking clicked, but did not start. I went and cleaned up my contacts and it started right up. In my garage we checked out the voltage on a battery when car didn't work, it was at 12.6 or so. When we started up, it went up to 14.4. So, the alternator worked!!! I tried a few times and it started and kept charging the battery. I'm thinking... I should clean up the contacts on the battery, take the alternator off and clean it up as well and just for hell of it to replace the brushes. by the way... the other half (there are two parts obviously) underneath the car covering from road dirt was not there!!! So, there is a bunch of gunk underneath my baby... so... if the alternator fed my battery while it was running... I have some hope it is still good, but might be acting out... or contacts on it, or contacts on the battery... what you think? Does electrical system run on alternator when car is working or can I disconnect the battery when the car is running like on older ones?
  3. Does anyone know if they interchange with others? I think mine died yesterday and I have to buy one now. It charged up from my buddy's car and when it got home, I tried to start it up and it only makes clicking noises (the battery is dead). sucks... :cries:
  4. I saw somewhere someone posting a wiring diagram for 92' SC 400. Does anyone which wire out of those five is the 6V wire? I don't have a tester on me today, but have to find it... is it yellow/green one? what i'm doing is installing a resistor to "fool" engine on cold air supplied... does anyone on this forum knows 92-95 SC 400's wiring? or has a wiring diagram?
  5. but they are 27w lamps... the instructions say that the power will be supplied will be 55w, right? if the wattage will be supplied the same, what is the point of wiring all these wires with the relay? why not supply the power from parking lights? The point was (if I didn't miss it) to wire to 55W, so the lamps will be brighter and lights will be used as fog lights... i'm lost now... 31 looked at this posting and only one person had something to reply on it... :chairshot: :cries:
  6. I use directions from http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html to convert cornering lights to fog lights on my 92' right now in garage. They mentioned H3 as lights. I bought sweet ones (blue) on eBay. But they don't fit... the stock light is 1156 27W. I will do the relay into 55W. What lights to I use with the same wattage and that they will fit into the housing? Has anyone done this conversion? I'm in garage right now!! Help!!!
  7. I tried to research this subject a while ago and remember the exact instructions on this issue. I purchased my SC400 (92) a couple of months ago and the original transponder key had no battery in it. I purchased a spanking new battery, did the whole set up thing and it didn't work. I tried today to try it again and it didn't work again. I know that the alarm is working - a few days ago AAA guys unlocked my car and it went off... quite loud alarm... I stopped it by unlocking driver's door with the key. The battery in transponder seems to be fresh. The dealer said that they don't program transponders even ones that came with originally... smells like BS... Has anyone else experienced difficulties resetting their keys? How did you resolve it?
  8. When I was looking at one of SC's for sale, I found your car on that forum... I saw your car and thought:"I would love to have similar one." In two days I saw one just like yours and paid cash on a spot. Love my ride... Thanks man for putting all those pics on that forum... Nice looking ride...
  9. thank you guys... that sounds like a project for me this weekend... but gotta do it... at least sounds like i have a few options to consider... will try on some hidden spots to see which one works best...
  10. Just got home and realized that i have some yellow darn road paint on the lower part of my sweet black SC!!! A couple of days ago I went through the construction road block and that darn yellow paint is all over the body below the doors and some on my baby's fenders! :cries: Does it come off? and if so, what do I use? Has anyone dealt with this crappy situation before? HELP!!! :cries: I hate that yellow polka-dot-decoration on my baby's black body!!!
  11. thanks guys... damn, they are expensive... i guess i can't really complain about it too much... no other choices...
  12. just got my 92 sc400 and i am not too happy with my premiums... I got 540 for 6 months just for state required liability coverage only... it would be at 1000 for 6 months for a decent 250 deductible policy... I'm 28, divorced, with 3 months lapsed insurance and wreckless driving with a "total" claim on my record a year ago (I rolled my Expedition a year ago). Ask your insurance to adjust your rate when you hit 25. If they don't (that was my case with Safeco), shop for a rate at 25 with other insurances. From my experience, I was able to lower my monthly premiums from 180 (full coverage) a month to 90 bach three years ago.
  13. i wondered about the same thing if there are any aftermarket clear lights for 92 SC400. There are not many aftermarket add-ons to these cars as far as I see. Guys, if you know of any sites that are good for aftermarket on these cars, let us know...
