  1. Just got my car back from Sound-Performance, the custom tuner, best known as the builder of some of the baddest Supras in the country. Larry and crew did a custom turbo install on my "98 GS300. They installed a SP ball bearing turbo, Haltec ecu. MSD ign., s.s.header, seimens 550 injectors. custom intercooler and a bunch of other goodies. They also did a valve body job to stiffen up the tranny. A fairly conservative tune yielded 402 H.P. and 536 ft-lbs of torque. there is very little spool-up and the engine pulls like a big-block v-8. Rain and snow have kept me from testing but will post some times when available. Wasn't able to attach dyno sheet, even though JPEG and 48k bits- maybe cause I'm on a Mac?
  2. It would be a tough project. Hybriding the manifold might be more work than its worth. The intercooler piping won't work. The trans would need valve body work to handle the power.
  3. if you can't find the manuals any place else- call 1-800-622-2033. It's the number for Toyota Service Publications. The women can give you the info and prices. Had mine within three days.
  4. Just a suggestion- if handling is a primary concern. For about 3,300 dollars you can get L-tuned springs and shocks, TRD sway bars, and the L-tuned staggered 18" wheels with Sport Pilots. Vast improvement - Got mine at Carsons Toyota- super sevice
  5. I had this problem occur on my 98 gs300 about the 2nd year I had it and was repaired under warranty. Sorry to say, but the fix was replacement of the steering column assembly. I suspect your looking at several hundred dollars. Hope I'm wrong- and good luck
