  1. I have had the light coming on around turns and then lately it has been comnig on more and more during regular driving. I replced the pads and now it is fine but the old pads were only worn about 1/2. Wierd.
  2. I have been having a similar issue. When it happens the CD errors out. I found that if I select the changer back to #1 it will play again. After that, I can go to any CD in the changer and it will work for awhile. The CD in #1 is brand new.
  3. So what all did you have to replace?... the drive shaft and bushings and a shaft mount? Thanks. ← I have the same issue. From parl to reverse thump. I always sit and let the car warm up so the rpms drop. Then it is fine. I am going to have the tranny fluid changed this weekend along with a tuneup at the dreaded dealer.
  4. I have a 93 sc400 and I have felt like mine is idleing high when it first starts as well. People at work make fun of me because I sit in my car for like 4 minutes before I drive off:)
  5. Is there a way to make the parking lights flash and for the car to make a beep when opening the door wit hthe key? I have a 93 sc400 and I think my old 92 sc4 did it.
  6. Sound like the same thing I have. I have only one out of the 4 main speakers working in my 93 400. The sub works and both tweeters work. They just quit one day.
  7. i replaced my nak head because i wanted a cd changer and didn't need a cassette player. my old one works - at least it did when i had it removed. the rear amp had gone and the rear speakers were shot, too. i wound up getting a new head, rear amp and speakers. You mentioned the rear amp. Does that mean there is more than one amp in the car? One for the back and maybe one in the front? Just wonder if the one next to the changer is powering all speakers.
  8. I jsut replaced my pump last week. I bought the part from the dealer and changed it myself. Aved about $700 in labor. Here are some links to posts on this board about it. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=14079 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=14190 Also, www.planetsoarer.com has an article about rebuilding the pump. This should help you out. Let me know if you have any questions.
  9. I replaced the hose last night and filled with fluid. It tokk aawhile to get the air out and I was a little worried but after about 15 min, I put the cap back on and let it run for about 5 min. After that I almost gave up but then the pump started getting quiet. I got back in the car and sure enough, perfect silky smooth steering with no noises from the pump.
  10. Has anyone installed the Soarer Digital Gauge in the Lex and got it to display mph instead of kilometers? Also, is it possible to install the touch screen from the Soarer in the SC400?
  11. I have a 93 400 but I used to have a 92 and the belt went at 90k. I parked the car and was at a friends house and when I came out, the car would not start. I guess I got lucky that it did not go when I was driving. It was about $1100 to do the change at the dealer.
  12. Can someone tell me what the 80k mile service at thge dealer takes care of? Timing belt, etc.?
  13. Yea, I remember you. I remember seeing pictures of your m3 with the bbs's in another forum for sale. I think I may have emailed you about them. Wish I could find some.
  14. Thanks. I got it done over the weekend. Took about 4 hours but was worth it saving all that money on labor. I broke a hose and am getting it from the dealer tomorrow so that will be the end of the whining..Thanks for your help!
  15. I replaced the pump over the weekend and it was fairly easy. Its a time consuming job but I was able to do it in about 4 hours with some help from my Father. You have to take the aircleaner off and move the air cleaner hose to get to the pump and then you will need to get to the main pump bolts that are under the pump. Its hard to get it off but with a little effort you can get it done. I broke one of the hoses and am waiting for it to come in. I had to order it from the lexus dealer. If you can do it, it will save you about $700 in labor. Just buy the pump from the dealer if you decide to replace it instead of doing the rebuild. I found some helpful instructions from www.planetsoarer.com. Someone wrote a description of how to do the rebuild and I used this to take off the pump. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
