I bought the batteries at watch repair shop, under $10. I replaced the batteries at home, using a small screw driver, no problem. No reprogram was necessary. -

Rafiki - Thanks for the good info on Nitto tires, maybe I'll consider them to replace tires (staggered 17's) on Mercedes C300 Sport next year. -

4wds off in the weeds on snow country highways is common in California Sierra mountains. Often driving too fast for conditions is main cause.

Do you live near there, and if so are you going to check it out? Yes, I was there last night, it's about 10 miles from my house but parking is a big hassle. Not sure if I will stop by to see it. I've seen plenty of high quality pictures of this car, but I really want to see one in the flesh at some point.

Agreed, selling vehicles like the C-class, RX and ES are lucrative high volume sellers and are too important not to be taken seriously by Mercedes and Lexus. They are not fancy Smart cars or Corollas.

When my fob key battery was dead, I couldn't start car without following special instructions shown in manual. Does your car start normally? -

Yes, leaving engine running while parked = 0 mpg. Even a Hummer H2 does better than when moving. The biggest improvement will be the result of the driver's technique, none of the other modifications will come close. -
