  1. [ This is really not true. I have had several Lexus sedans, two of which have upwards of 200,000 miles. The leather looks great. My ES350 has 27k on it now and is 1.5 years old...leather is light cashmere...and it looks great. It just requires some care, as all fine things do. Not my quote about BMW leather. My experience with modern Lexus leather is good. I have a 2007 IS350 with 40K miles, leather is gray and looks very good. I find the new GS interior to look very good (I sat in it at Pebble Beach), new and very sucessful 5 series interior is good too. Both interiors should meet expectations of premium mid-sized car buyers.
  2. Congrats on the 2012 ISF, post pics when you get the chance.
  3. Rear foglight is more like a single left brakelamp. Using a rear foglamp in non-foggy conditions is a unsafe distraction in traffic.
  4. I've seen the new GS at Pebble Beach last August and at San Jose car show in January. I think it looks quite agressive, my 2 mid-sized premium car favorites from a styling standpoint are the 5 series and new GS. The wide track dimensions and resulting body width are important for the stance these cars have. To me Audi A6 and E-class are a notch down from a styling standpoint.
  5. My 07 IS350 is getting the "CHECK VSC" with a bunch of warning lights sometimes.
  6. Not famililar with dazzling front fog lights (unless they are incorrectly aimed).
  7. Anybody have "Check VSC" and other warning lights go on at once? Then when car is restarted warning lights are off. It's happened twice in 2 days. No change in performance that I can detect.
  8. Don't expect IS250/IS350 rear spoiler to cut spray/splash on back window and the spoiler is not visible from drivers seat.
  9. If the car checks out okay, yes. Price is reasonable asking price if car is loaded and if you are in a snow belt area where AWD commands a premium.
  10. Hold the phone. What's a IS400? (or maybe it's a LS400)
  11. Welcome Sandburn, no need to just lurk, let us know more about your IS250 and experiences with it.
  12. I've noticed Caddie rarely talks about or provides statistics on it's aerodynamics, like other premium car makers do (Mercedes, Lexus, Audi to name a few). I suspect the Escalade-derived styling takes its toll on aerodyynamics.
  13. Any recent noteworthy recalls?
  14. Wow, the new site is really upgraded. But regarding Cadillac, I'm growing a bit tired of Cadillac styling.
  15. Looks pretty good, for a Cadillac.
  16. I too live with the burden, rarely keeps me awake at night. And A7 looks good for a hatchback, certainly not my favorite car.
  17. Fab one in your workshop / garage is one way to get one customized.
  18. It's for mounting a low-mounted handgun rack.
  19. Update: Replaced Hankook tires at about 31K miles on Mercedes C300, a little sooner than I expected given moderate driving conditions. But handling/ride/noise was good through entire period and life is typical for summer performance tire. New tires are Kumho Ecsta ASX (performance all-season tire), we will see how those go....
  20. ^ GS350 (2013 only) might fit the bill, I expect it to have a huge increase in sales from current gen but to still be easily outsold by E-class and 5 series. To me (having seen it in person) it has similar appeal to new 5, a car that I consider to be "best in class" currently. Of course that is highly subjective.... Agreed, #1 to me isn't top-selling, therefore I've never owned a Camry/F-150/CRV/3-series, etc.
  21. ^ To some extent I have similar concerns about Audi (and BMW). Specifically A7 doesn't appeal to me (although not as bad as Panamera), for styling comparision purpose I prefer CLS.
  22. Do you have a source on that? I'd like to see it. Be sure its the NEW A6...not the old A6. I saw December 2011 A6 sales earlier (news on Audi's US website), about 1900 units which is actually very good, but most likely well under E-class and 5 series sales for the same month. So by Audi standards in the US market, those are impressive sales numbers for a mid-sized premium sedan.
  23. And the Audi A6 in US market is not selling well versus E and 5 series, doesn't have same appeal to premium car buyers. Let 's see how new GS sells, last gen sales had sunk terribly.
