  1. Steer clear of that revenue and profit enhancing dealer add-on. You can similar plastic (rubbery/pliable) stick-on edge guards at PepBoys auto stores for a lot cheaper and without damaging paint. I actually used 2 on my last Porsche Boxster.
  2. Agreed, should be no harm done.
  3. ^outsourced reviews, 3rd party interpretations, via translaters and filters, nothing but the experts, no wonder....
  4. Yes, first year issues do come up (as they have for years). Some companies (like Lexus) handle them better and still have fewer than average. Other companies (like Ford) have far more first year issues. Better and more thorough durability and reliability testing prior to production release makes a difference, even Mercedes has proven that (after years of terrible reliability in 2000-2007 ). New GS350 issues have yet to be documented, maybe they will come up but too early to say.
  5. I had already noticed the source of the original comment before I commented and discounted it accordingly. So far we have no evidence of warranty claims and related inconvenience. I expect the reliability to be consistent with Lexus cars of recent history.
  6. I don't agree completely. My opinion is that the new GS350 will be very reliable (separate from the tires that is). I don't see the new technology as a problem as long as the reliability and durability testing is done right. I often have low opinions on OEM tire choices offered by many auto makers.
  7. That much mileage variation is not unusual with varied driving conditons. Based on mileage reported, you must be in a urban area. btw - Welcome.
  8. I think nearly all cast wheels are from China today, some from Taiwan.
  9. IMO, it looks ok and works with the subtle styling changes. I'd like to see some dual exhaust outlets like the Venza on the 350.
  10. Good info here. And the cat-killing option might have some demand too.
  11. At what intervals (miles) and what oil?
  12. So what was the fix for that? ABS warning lights and leaking brake fluid are all danger signs.
  13. Maybe try a random number generator, rankings will be almost as useful.
  14. I have an 07 IS350 with low dust front pads installed by dealer at 29K miles 2 years ago. Never had squealing before or after.
  15. The amusing condescending thread or just read the owners manual for fuel requirement, whatever is easier. We know which one is more useful.
  16. Splitting hairs on ride quality in this class of cars (premium mids) is so subjective it's meaningless and largely individual baseless preference. Even C&D put numbers of 9 and 10 on ride quality in their subjective numerical chart. Tires and tire pressure make a significant difference, especially on less than perfect roads. Thankfully C&;D does provide some factual instrumented test data in road test for comparison purposes.
  17. toosic - Congrats on the new 2013 GS. Post up a pic when you have a chance. I saw a white F-Sport last weekend at my local country club, looked great in that color combo.
  18. Anybody home here in IS-F section?
  19. IMO, I don't think OP/Denny was concerned about the different classes of cars and no mention was made of prices either. Although both cars are somewhat similar in size, the comments were mostly about comparing via driving 2 different cars and observations. The reality in the market is that the 5 series is a mid-sized benchmark and other manufacturers in different price classes will make comparisons when they think certain aspects are competitive.
  20. What do women have to say regarding original topic? Chime in pls.
  21. They need to generating revenue with this, like they do with drug-dealer cars.
  22. I think your observation about G37 being quicker shows in test data in most road tests by major car mags. It's mainly result of power to weight ratio with 5 series being several hundreds of pounds heavier. I noticed in separate R&T tests of new 550 (manual) and current gen Is350 (auto), acceleration stats were nearly identical. Btw G37 and IS350 weights are very close. Thanks for posting review.
