  1. Get the best loaner car in dealer fleet for one...
  2. I'm using all season Kumhos on my Mercedes C-class, good results.
  3. My response is the same as SW03ES, no extended warranty needed. My response reflects my opinion.
  4. How about any aftermarket exhaust (on ISx50)?
  5. I also wish to honor our veterans and thank them.
  6. 20's will fit with right combination of rim width, offset, tire sizing. Many ISx50 owners in California run 20" wheels. But they are even more prone than 19's to damage from bad roads, etc. Check with an experienced and recommended custom tire/wheel shop in your area for specs.
  7. Drivers ed, NASCAR event in 110 degrees and use of left brain in discussion of recommended gasoline in RX thread, like wow...
  8. Anybody run F-Sport exhaust on their IS250/IS350? If so comment please.
  9. So what was the diagnosis after the service visit, was it was fixed or did they have to order the part? btw, I paid about $165 to have mine fixed.
  10. Seeing the importance placed on comfort and quiet, best not to change wheels to larger diameter.
  11. I've had Eibach 350's (same as Lexus F-sport lowering springs) on my IS350 for nearly 3 years with good results. Ride quality is still fairly good, handling slightly improved, and looks greatly improved. You will need to research availabilty of these springs for AWD via Eibach or Lexus.
  12. I have not heard of this with Lexus. I did replace my remote batteries at the 4 year mark on my IS350. Both remotes went dead at that time. The owners manual has the procedure for starting the car with dead remote battery, it works fine.
  13. Welcome. Sounds like a nice car, hope to see a picture posted soon enough.
  14. Go Giants. I hope everybody had a good Easter and was able to enjoy the Lexus too.
  15. I think annoying bump in floor pan is on AWD config. AWD IS250's are somewhat rare here in CA.
  16. I'd love it if Lexus would give the IS350 as a loaner- i'm pretty sure i'd enjoy it! But it's a loner, so i should be thankful it had nav... I've had loaner IS350's before, but they were older and pretty beatup. Certainly reminds me of why I would never buy a loaner car. Never had a loaner with nav, that would be nice for a change.
  17. Nice write-up and good perspective on compact sports sedan versus a mid-sized SUV. I make that comparison every week, driving a SUV about 4-5 days per week. The IS350 is driven the other 2-3 days per week, it really makes me appreciate the significant difference in power and handling in contrast.
  18. I can't see enough to reach a conclusion, but my initial impression is good.
  19. I hear what you are saying, it's fine for me and all the Lexus owners I know, but NOT for all. Yes, we haven't had engine seizures and oil sludging, no kidding. And we know what happened when Toyota dealers tried to deny oil sludging claims, Toyota got reamed and paid millions in the end. But to your point, it is a good historical example of how they unsuccessfully attempted to "stab in the back" good customers. And it's not certain they want to go down that PR disaster and expensive road again. Like you I have years of experience with the 2 brands as well as other premium brands, not to mention internet forums. But I agree, for those that feel its a risk and cannot afford the extremely low risk they should follow memo by all means, keeping in mind new development below since memo was published. Therefore it is not fine for all, per memo. Now it's a non-issue (not that Lexus is making it a issue, it is certainly something to discuss on Internet). Because Lexus now has 10K intervals with approved synthetic on 2013 GS 350 with same engine as IS350. Good progress and expected from a leading premium brand. It's not so much a cost issue for owners, more of practical use of time and not wasting resources. Again to repeat, it's not fine for everybody to casually change to 10K intervals, see above.
  20. Yes, we know how poorly Toyota (and Lexus) did when it paid out big time for oil sludging problem, even when owners were severly negligent. We know about boilerplate write up by Lexus, good luck with that. Btw, the offending SA never referenced the document. Anybody can speculate about (an attempt at) denial, but guarantee from outsiders is just speculation. Unfortunately Toyotas very expensive payout is now in history books. And 10K intervals on Mobile1 is not negligent, the well documented lab results prove that. Nothing to worry about. Lexus has provided excellent warranty service for me.
  21. No the dork is wrong, because the law protects owners. In order to deny Warranty claim Lexus would have to prove that the 10K intervals contributed or caused the problem reported. Lexus can print whatever they want. The proof is that I continued to get excellent warranty work and coverage at my dealer while on 10K intervals of Mobile1 changed by the dealer.
  22. Yes, I'm on 10K intervals w/ synthetic Mobil1 at my Lexus dealership on my 2007 IS350. The first service writer (dork) I asked at dealership about this, said I needed to come in at 5K intervals with synthetic oil, blah blah, blah. I fired him. The next service writer I asked at dealership about this, said 10K intervals are fine with approved synthetic oil, so I've continued to use him for scheduling all my service appointments since.
