  1. I would look into the Kumho tires they are very reasonable and offer very good performance. Nitto would be another choice.
  2. I drove an LS 400 today and I smelled anti-freeze inside the car???Is the heater core bad? If so is that expensive or any ideas of the cause???? TIA
  3. I just came across from a dealer a 96 LS400 Coach Edition with 133,000 miles in very nice shape. They are asking $11,900. I would like to buy it for under $11,000 does that seem like a good deal. It is a clean inside and out and no visual defects. I need to put in on a lift still. However before I do can I get opinions as this is my first Lexus I am buying and I am a newbie TIA
  4. I got Michelin's at Costco too they rock. If someone is looking for a reasonable tire that really works I would loook at the Kumho or Nitto line of tires also.
  5. Well ok then..As an S60 owner.... I took offense and yes across the board they are not comparable. Volvo does not have as wide of a range of cars that lexus does, however in the class and price range I was buying in they are very comparable.
  6. The price is high but the market is tight on these cars. So demand sets price. I am looking for one also and I am in the same boat. I going to be patient and wait and keep looking. Keep in mind all those items he mentioned only substantiate retail price, not increase it. If they did not do it they could not justify the retail price. That is why there is a spread between trade and retail value. It allows for the reconditioning of any vehicle. Don't let anyone tell you differently. I have previously worked for a used car dealer so I do understand the game. However like you stated they may wait to see if somebody will fall for that line and pay it and somebody probably will.
  7. Your a smart guy Since your obviously an expert...and probably the top lot dog at Hendrick you have every right to say that....Since I am on the topic can you document one test that plots them head up? So an S60R does not match up well with an IS300..LOL since you are an expert explain your position or SHUT UP thank you in advance
  8. And I have heard of every one of those models, could point them out in pictures and could give you a breif general timeline of their lineage. Again, please stop talking to me like I'm not a car enthusiast because I don't have a BMW. ← Just my .02 but all those BMW's were rust buckets also...I sold lots of replacement panels for those cars.... ;)
  9. are they semi-metallic pads...they often squeek no matter what you do except sometimes brake quieter from the auto parts store helps..
  10. Just an update the Lexus dealer now will go $14,000 I think it still to much..opinions????
  11. thanks folks for the different viewpoints. This is the first Lexus I have bought so I am learning and their seems to be many of these cars in FLorida and Texas vs. here in Charlotte.
  12. How many miles did it have on it? ← It has 96,000 miles and is in good condition, but it is not a CPO car and not worth $6,000 over retail..unless it came with a concierge
  13. I did and and the fact that you don't think so is your opinion and ignorance is not a virtue :chairshot: You work for Hendrick which absolutely the worst dealership I have ever seen(at least the one in Charlotte is). Maybe you need to some research.......
  14. thanks for the opinions..I'll still keep looking locally hard to find a good one when you have crooks like Hendrick Lexus wanting $19,000 for a 96 LS 400
  15. OK I am having a hard time finding a well maintaned reasonably priced 93-6 LS400 locally. So I am considering breaking down and gong the Ebay route. Any advice? Do you recomend or not recomend? TIA
  16. Tell me about it!!!! trying to find a 93-6 LS 400 that is priced correctly is going to make me nutz... I have an crazy dealer here Hendrick Lexus that wants almost $19,000 miles for a 96 LS 400 with 96,000 mile http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=1...lor=&cardist=10 $6,000 over retail this guys are on drugs....SO I called them and offered them $8,000 just to aggravate them and ask why? Sorry for the hijack ← Lexicon, Just another dealer trying to make huge, unfair profits..... be patient, you'll find your ride ← thanks I am diligently looking

  19. Why? the Volvo is an excellent car there are other good cars than a Lexus. I am going to buy an LS soon and I will buy a used and never use them for service...as I stated their loss not mine since I tell everyone that story
  20. Yes I agree make sure it is 100% correctly installed. My 3.5 yr. old was in the car when my ex-wife was t-boned by a car going 55mph. He walked away just a bit shook up. I chalk this up to a the Britax seat installed properly.
  21. The Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte is not very good. I went there with my fiance on a Saturday to look at cars. We were considering an IS300 or a ES330. The salesperson asked us if we were buying today. We said we're not sure yet we haven't driven anything yet. He asked to come another time as he was to busy to help us! We then went down the street and bought a Volvo S60T. Hmmm does that sound like great service? He lost a commision check and they lost many referrals and ancelatory sales based on these actions. :chairshot:
