  1. sorry curiousB did not refresh screen so saw your post after i posted mine. Thanks and i will get right to it. Love this site!!! Has saved me so much time and money and I have gotten to know my car better!
  2. ok got the sarter out. On the '03 es 300 it is above the tranny (fwd) on the right side in engine compartment. looks like the gear on the starter is not extending out and engaging the engine to turn it over. What would cause that please if anyone knows. BTW it takes around 15 minutes to get to the starter and pull it. Kudos to Toyota on this one!!! Any tips on rebuilding the starter please??
  3. if i hear the starter just turning like a dynamo on the right above the tranny in my '03 es300 and the engine dont start what does it mean??? pls.
  4. on the 2003 es 300 the starter is above the tranny i am told??
  5. No codes come on in my car. just a sound like the starter is turning freely on its own...
  6. same problem with my 2003 es300... drove today then parked. came back and something turns like an electric motor on the tranny side® (its FWD) but no motor response. in hind site i could swear it sounded a little high pitch during start up the last week or so... Please help...
  7. could a bad battery be the problem?? i noticed the car starts slightly harder last few weeks... also where would i find FSM diagnostics pls? is that something i can buy or download for free?

  10. last saturday i was at a stop light and lost acceleration completely. turned the car off and restarted it a few seconds later and had acceleration for about 5 seconds then gone again. no noises and engine runs fine, tranny engages and i drive home at about 1-2 mph.... long trip! bought an obd ii code reader from sears and got code 2112, 2238 and 2241. i need a list of the codes and directions on what to do to rectify them. Could this have happened because I had changed the plugs and when i put everything back together i did not plug in the throttle position sensor until after i started the car and realized i had no throttle control??? i erased the codes today and it works fine now and the codes did not come back after i drove the car.... in my complex... for a few minutes... any advice please?
