  1. nope. just a million baffles to take off and the air intake arm has to be removed for the passenger side. but it is relatively an easy job, just a little tedious. EDIT.----im sorry, i forgot to mention i did this on my 93 sc400..not a 2000, so hopefully it is the same as the 93. again, sorry.

  4. i had the trac control light on and the check engine light as well. went and got BG fuel induction system flush and trans flush with filter change (was about 196 for both) and the lights went away for good. the code i was kicking was a 25 which meant it was lean. hope this helps you some, email if you have any more questions.
  5. sczccrx, are you referring to the standard size brembo x drilled? or the gran turismos? wondering because i just purchased the brembo standard x drilled (all four with goodridge lines and hawk pads) and im hoping these are gonna be sufficient enough for the heavy sc. im used to tuning my type r and they were great on that. thanks for answering sc rookie question. --jason

  8. im crazy crazy late on this, but thanks a mill for the insight, i def took those into considration and i am in the process of doing all that currently! what plugs/wires/ etc do you guys use on the sc4, jus go back to factory stuff or should i look to the afternmarket for some wires/plugs?
  9. i was told i need to clean my EGR valve and have a BG fuel induction flush and possibly replace the o2 sensor. i know there are four, so i will have to find out which one. also, my car is kicking a code #25 which is air/fuel ratio malfunction (lean) i believe. does this all sound accurate and does any one else have any preventitive maint. suggestions i should do while getting this stuff fixed next week. thanks!--jason.
  10. unfortunately..flippin' va has always had emissions testing..at least long as i can remember :( its every 2 years or when you title a vehicle..sucks.. the crar failed all three tests..npo's, cc's. (?? i also forget the other one) it is being diagnosed as we speak at a local toyota mechanic..i will let you all know what the problem was after i get the car back romarrow..im super bummed tho :( :(
  11. hey guys, i failed all three of the tests required for the state of va tonight. has anyone had major emission issues with their 400, and if so, give me a few things to inquire about. or just a tip or two..thanks!

  21. bone stock, one owner non-smoker, 130k all records & maint. performed..paid 6750 for it out the door. was i ripped or did i fair well? i think the latter, car is crazy clean! front_end
  22. hey aaron, could you email me the procedure on this? email addy is jsindrn@aol.com thanks in advance!
  23. first off, thanks guys for the replies! well, when i started the car afterwork to head home, the lights were still on. i was idling for about 2 minutes and they went off, and never came back on. before i ask anymore questions, should i still be concerned? or was the rain just having an effect on the TC? what are some diagnostic things to look for to see if the TC is acting properly? i think i am going to rule out the alternator or power steering issues because 1 the car keeps juice and started up just fine all night (so far at least) and the power steering was absoluetly normal on the way home. if i dropped fluid it would be noticeable. again, crazy thanks fellas for all the help. im sure i will have plenty more for ya'll cus you seem pretty knowledgeable..
  24. while driving this morning on the way into work, they both randomly came on. i parked the car and wondered if they would reset after turning off, but both are still on. any ideas as to why this happened? i have seen a few posts with the trac control prob, but still a little puzzled. im gonna go by the dealership to have it checked out after work, but until then it will bug me..help!! BTW_the car is a 1993 SC400
