  1. I think in the 97-99 ES's you can put in the cabin filter all you have to do is buy the tray that the filter sits in. In the 2000-present ES's come from the factory with them. I'm not too sure about the 92-96 ES's though.
  2. I think you ticking sound may be you valves, they maybe out of adjustment. When you rev up you engine see if the ticking sound gets faster or not.
  3. I think thats a good question. Those brake shoes are rarley ever used. The only time they are used is when you apply the parking brake, so I think that they might be a dealer only item, not too sure.
  4. Theres a paste called "auto-sol" it will get off all types of spots and brake dust build up. It work great!
  5. I think with the IS rim you will not need a spacer since it is a 17X7 rim. I put the gs430 rims on my Es and I needed 1/4 inch spacers in the rear because it is a 17X8 rim and it was rubbing against the strut in the rear. In the front I had no problems. I personally would try to stay away from spacers as much as possible becuase you may get vibration and you cannot put a hub centering spacer or a hub centering ring since the hub size on the rim and the car are both the same size.
  6. Thats looks sick man. Did you have to use a spacer or anything??
  7. I'm not sure if anybody mentioned it yet, but I would see if your rear sway bar bushings are worn out or not first.
  8. No doubt!! I installed my head unit myself too. I think thats its a good experience.
  9. I had the eurolight bulbs and they only lasted me about 3 months becuase they blew out. My buddy had them in his car and the melted his socket that goes into the bulb!!!
  10. Thats right, you may have a burnt out tail light or parking light. That light on your dash is called a tail light warning indicator.
  11. The 9005 bulb is for the high beam and I'm pretty sure that no H.I.D comes in the 9005 style, you maybe thinking of the 9006 bulb the type that all the 92-96 ES's use and they are for the low beam.
  12. Yeah, I'd love to see some pictures! :D
  13. I know that they will be replaced if they burn out within a year because they have a 1 year waranty, but do you mean to say that even after a year is over that shop will replace them if you have their "power card" ??
  14. I have silverstars too, I've had them for about 6 months now and they look good and so far no problems.
  15. Hey GS300SportD which site did you get these pictures from??
  16. The new oil filters are made in Thailand, but i haven't paid close attention to the part #.
  17. I think it would be a good idea to use the timing belt kit anytime your doing a timing belt and water pump job because once its all open, you might as well just replace some parts like tension rods etc. because its a big job and you wouldn't want to open everything up again if you did find out that a bearing or something was noisy and worn because its a to open up again. imo
  18. Factory HID's are much more expensive then the aftermarket HID's and I'm pretty sure that you can't buy a full HID system from Lexus, each part is sold seperatly which would make it pretty expensive to install. If I were you I would just buy a good aftermarket HID system from Phillips or Sylvania.
  19. I think the Duracell CR1616 works just as well.
  20. I don't think the 1999 had the A/C filter. They started putting them in the 2000 up ES's.
  21. I also tried looking for them but I had no luck also. I think that you can get led bulbs that fit the dash but not too sure where to get them. If you find out anything please post it.
  22. I personally haven't herd of any hid's being stolen on a Lexus but you never know. I know that on the Maxima's and the TL's the the balasts are mounted on the headlight itself but on the Lexus's I think there mounted on the inner fender so the theif could steal the headlight but not the balast.
  23. I have 17" chrome gs rims on my 92 es. I used 1/4" spacers in the rear.
