Sorry, more precisely, it is coming out from uder the Air Filter compartment, dripping out from left side(driver seat) of engine . Hope it is not from the rear main seal. Would this possibly caused by the transmission shop?? thanks for the reply..

A coupld weeks ago, I had my transmission rebuild at mileage 127,000km. Last week, I found oil drip in my garage. I thought this must be transmission fluid. I took the car back to the transmission shop. They checked, and found that the drip was engine oil, coming out from the left side, (driver side, under the battery ),not the bottom part, of the engine. Could anybody give me any clue what this might be?? Does this leak has any connection with the transmission service?? or it is simply another independent problems. What a nightmare!! thanks..

My lexus 2002 Rx 300 transmission failed a couple weeks ago at 127,000 KM. Since I was not a gold card customer, they turned down my claim. These days, I found oil drip in my drive way, took in the transmission shop, they checked, and told me that it is engine oil. I'm really puzzled.. Good luck.. Burt

Thanks for the advice. Yes, indeed, very very painful.. After the fix, the car is not as good as before, maybe I will think about trade-in.. but no more Lexus.

Thanks for the advice... Actually, I found over the Internet that many similar transmission failure cases like mine. For this model RX300 2002, this should have been a recall.

Could anyone advise me how to deal with Lexus Canada regarding my RX300 permature transmission failure at 126,000km? Cost me cdn$4700 to get it rebuilt. I tried to email Lexus CA thru website, it didn't go thru. I phoned them, they told me it took 4-7 business days to review my case. Besides,...they didn't sound friendly over the phone.
