  1. I would suspect you will have to stay with 1999 to 2003 RX300. Their are companies that sell seat cover replacements, and this might be the best way to go. As for carpet that should be do able, I am sure somebody sells kits.
  2. They must have needed a down payment on their yatch....serious, the parts are like $1200 in parts, they sure are charging a lot of labor.....Weird suspension, cant tell exactly what the lower control arms are in the drawing. Is it a pair of arms on each side? Sewell Lexus has the parts for around $328 each...I need a better drawing to see if their are 2 or 4..... At lexus parts.now the parts are only around $260 apiece....I would get an independent to install them...probably 1/3 the cost....
  3. for the p0171 do a search and you will see many solutions as for the dog bone, yea easy to do...Find it cheap at Rock Auto.com...or many part houses. Oh and welcome aboard. here is one posting.... http://us.lexusowner...__+p0171 +fixes Rock auto has one for around $14 plus shipping, but Ebay, local auto stores, etc will have the dog bone.
  4. If they are that worn at 65k then the rotors originals are poor or the pads are very aggressive. I know on my RX's the rotors looked great, even at 100k....Maybe the IS rotors are just doing a tremendous amount of work. You have two options, if the stopping is smooth you could just throw another set of pads on and then on the next change do pads and rotors...Or you could see if this is a common issue on the IS and opt for a better rotor and pad.
  5. Oh yea.....
  6. Yes the mercedes are fantastic with the turn radius, however the downsides are as you mentioned. The LS is a nice car....good luck in your quest.
  7. Ok I is the vibration at idle? or on the road.....Sorry I had a vibration issue on my old RX300 and it turned out being the drive shaft to the rear (note AWD).
  8. Ha Ha Ha, I get him, somewhere between English, car talk, and Texting....I agree everyone has jumped on the band wagon with the grill look, If I were 20 something, I would probably say cool, (oh is that like to old a term), but Now that everyone has that look, well sorry Audi, you were copied....
  9. What about the upper stabilizer mount on the passenger side on top of the engine near the power steering fluid and top timing belt cover? Did you replace that mount..?
  10. One other thing is check the flex pipe on the exhaust below the engine...The coupling breaks and gives you the impression of more vibration...And more noise. Hold a piece ol paper next to it while running and it should not move....The flex pipe can be replaced at any reputable muffler shop...
  11. Doesnt sound good. look for an independent tranny shop
  12. Actuallly the toyota filters are quite good....
  13. However 0-20 is used for energy conservation...I find my level the same at the time of oil change and after 5k miles. Changing the PCV valve seemed to make the difference. However some oils just act differently in this engine.
  14. mINE HAS maintained full level consistantly. When I got car at 87k it appeared to use a half quart. I would suggest changing oil brands...I am presenstly using Mobil 1 0-20 energy oil full synthetic. Now I go oil change to oil change with no loss. Also change the pcv valve. the engine may be building up too much crankcase pressure.
  15. Beautiful car....on a side note I looked at a 2013 Hyundai Equus, what a totally beautiful automobile....and man over 400 hp...what a move into luxuary. kind of looks like a lexus....
  16. Yes, the power is amazing on the 400h....When I am down in your neck of the woods I truely love driving the RX400h....A little lead foot and man you zoom.
  17. Well Rey, which do you like better your old RX400h or the newer RX350? Just curious...
  18. Unfortunately the provision for assault weapons did not decrease the violence...(note I do not feel these weapons are necessary for any other than military or police) the real problem is the lack of responsibility in this society. We have multitudes of reasons, but the lack of real one on one and understanding between parents, kids, others is the tragic of our society. So many zone out of their responsiblility to their kids, setting no limits, and not having the ability to say no. Hey we arent best friends, we are their to provide guidance. This man took these lives in with no feelings whatsoever. The more that is known is that he was against any normal acceptance of affection, love, etc. He was in all sense a mental time bomb and it exploded. We have taken any assemblance of love and religion out of our institutions and are breeding a whole generation of people that feel abandoned, and alone. Until we as a society grasp that it is not just about us, but about our fellow human being whether that be our children, our neighbors, and yes the strangers that we daily pass in life we are doomed to more of this. We have so many laws now that are ignored, why does anybody think more is going to fix a problem that nobody wants to address, mental illness, abandoned children ( yes tv and video games are not quality time), and bringing the ten commandments or at least the discussion and proper behavior and what would be the reward/punishment for right and wrong. Yes we all want our children to be able to grow, and become useful, productive, loving adults. These 26 people are a reminder of the evil that lurks in the decisions that we as a society have allowed, whether it be such distastful games (video) or allowing no correction of bad behavior. Somehow I wish my grandchildren could have experienced the more innocent days of my childhood. But the onslaught of technology both good and bad, and the pressures we all feel in day to day activity has made us forget the importance of sitting at dinner and having family talk, and not allowing outside media to interupt those periods when we can truely understand the pressures of the day...Shut that TV, cell phone, and music off (unless it is bethoven) and reconnect to the values you are missing. Hug your babies and realize that their is nothing more precious than life.
  19. Ah miss those days of somebody pumping your gas...provided jobs, and your car was kept up to date with whatever the attendant was allowed to sell you....I worked in a Texaco way back then, I loved that job in my teen years, and it taught me how to treat customers. We had to clean all windows, (not just front), headlights, and check fluids when allowed. we even checked air pressure in tires and filled for free... People expected that and had many great conversations that summer. Oh and gas was 27.9 per gallon....
  20. Wow, that is one bad looking vehicle...welcome aboard. Keep sending pictures...I really like the look.
  21. I wouldnt think the spark plugs need replacing...however the Oil should probably be dumped and crank the engine over without plugs in to try to get the coolent out. The intake manifold may be contaminated also. I would then squirt a small amount of oil in each cylinder to lube the piston walls. put the plugs back, and crank the engine to finish removing the coolant. The charcoal canister could also be contaminated. Take it slow, and dont forget to put fresh engine oil in the car as well as a new oil filter.
  22. being on the left coast, and the California Air Resources Board gestapo, our gas sucks big time...no differences from one station to the next. can only get 91 octane....
  23. Received the tool but have an old xp labtop and havent been able to get the license activated yet.... that is next step...otherwise it does bring up my RX400h ok....
  24. I bought the Yokohama Pravada's have 20k miles on them now, so far quiet and wearing evenly....
  25. Hey Ebay is your friend. lots of them here is one... http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-REAR-CARGO-COVER-FOR-2010-2012-LEXUS-RX350-RX-400h-EXCL-CONDITION-CHEAP-/221163272515?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item337e5bb943&vxp=mtr
