  1. I would check all of your lights, even in the cargo area to make sure they are not turned on. I personally changed mine to LED so if wifey leaves them on they draw very little.
  2. The only downside of this manufacturer is that they get government subsidy. I personally believe in free enterprise.....Cant stand the government bailouts of General Motors and others....Everytime the government gets envolved there is fraud.....
  3. I looked at one in San Jose at a dealership. Really neat concept, and a very spacious vehicle. When Wife and I walked outside to go to our car an older gentlemen was getting out of the older two seat model. He loves his Telsa, was his second one as the first was totaled in a collision. Said the charger system was fantastic at his home, and he was charging in the parking lot. nice vehicle.
  4. sometimes the aftermarket belts have a slightly different v shape...However when you tensioned, a method I use is to take the longest stretch of belt and try to twist the belt 90 degrees...you should not be able to do this if the belt is properly tensioned. You could spray some belt lubricant on the belt and see if the squeeling goes away, if it does then the belts are not tight enough.
  5. Posted on your other posting, but go to Tirerack.com and you can get feedback about particular tires. I know the Michelins and the Yokohma Parada X which I am running are very quiet. Road noise could be a rear bearing going or like mine a front wheel bearing.
  6. Actually I replaced tires on mine and still had noise, turned out to be front wheel bearing, however generally the rear bearings are the culprit on these cars. I went with Yokohoma Parada X tires and they are really quiet.
  7. I would think it is under warranty, take it in and get it resolved
  8. Hey Rey, good job....enjoying your Ride?
  9. Maybe the last time tires were changed the torque wrench was set too high at the tire shop and weakened the stud....Was there corrosion.?
  10. Hey welcome aboard, Don't own one of those trucks, but maybe somebody can answer your question....
  11. I would highly suggest changing fluid at or before 100k miles...mine was dirty at that time and I am glad I changed mine. Here is my old posting: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/hybrid-technology/556314-cvt-and-rear-differential-plugs.html
  12. You are going to have to decide on that, I know A-1 Cardone parts that I have used over the years have been fine...They are available at many auto parts stores including Napa, Rock Auto, etc. I would go with the best price and warranty, I think you have a winner, but the installation and removeal are the real pain....
  13. I bought one for a nissan sentra (87) from Rock Auto, and was very satisfied, was rebuilt by A-1 Cardone I believe You might check their site. $146 but with a core charge until you replace the old one, so around $300
  14. By the durability of these belts I would think you would be ok...But I know many others will say the time issue is important. One way is to remove the upper cover and check the condition of the belt.....
  15. see this http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-first-generation/454575-diy-replacing-air-fuel-sensor.html
  16. sounds like the cat is clogged....creating too much backpressure....
  17. could always register at my Lexus and look for info on Lexus campaigns....
  18. checked the usual, tire pressure, air filter, and dont forget the change in fuel from winter to summer blends....With no cel lights hard to diagnose
  19. You can use regular, but if you notice pinging from the engine switch back...Performance will also decrease, this is a subject discussed many times on these forums...Sales people will tell you anything to make a sale...
  20. Lexus of Sacramento is where I bought my first lexus RX300 in November of 1998....They performed all services satisfactory. No issues. Just for your info I have used Maita Toyota in Sacramento and also received good service....Good luck with your service, enjoy your ride. Remember if you have issues and dont know what to expect use this forum, we will educate or at least come up with some answers....
  21. tell you, I have had good and bad experience with Lexus dealership mechanics...There is no elite when it comes to mechanics, you have good, you have bad....I have been taking my RX400h to Toyota locally (Rosevile CA) and they have been absolutely great, could change, but one never knows. I have an excellent mechanical knowledge when it comes to cars and that makes a difference also because the BS stops when I hear it, and I correct them immediately and tell them I dont appreciate BS being given to any customer....THe Local Lexus Dealership (Roseville Lexus) had absolutely the worst when it came to fixing my old RX300...Their lack of quality was beyond words....I had an inverter cooling pump go on my RX400h and Toyota treated me not only better, but did not cheat, lie, or BS me on any of the repairs. They also gave me a Senior Discount and 20% off on parts. Cant ask more than that, they were fair, professional, and Repaired the vehicle promptly. I always suggest consumers learn about their products and be knowledgeable when dealing with businesses, It will save you Dollars and stop the BS. Forums like this will give you the knowledge for getting that fair shake.
  22. I at first liked the grill, but every auto maker out there is producing the same look....Now lexus is just part of the crowd....Seems the Audi was one of the first, and It definetly looked mean....I say stick with the status look, not the trend that everyone has...
  23. Good job, thanks for giving feedback to the solution....
  24. well $4.19 for premium at Sams Club....We are snake bit here in California with the Air Resources Gestapo
  25. You are sure the axle shaft didnt pop out of the transfer case....there is a circlip that locks it in...The shaft can be in the case but not locked onto the drive gear....You should not be able to pull the axle shaft next to the transfer case in and out...It should be relatively tight.
