Don't forget dielectric grease and the oil control valve has a filter screen

I would start with 2 & 6 make sure to use dielectric grease on the connection forfo Moisture and arc suppression

Again, don't trust your method of troubleshooting coils, they can act very intermittent. Moving them and see if the code changes would be a better method. The OCV could be a culprit, but generally will effect the entire bank of cylinders. The oil control valve would effect all three cylinders as it changes the cam timing.

You replaced the plugs but not the coil packs? the coil packs break down. Also what kind of plugs did you put in? Hopefully original equipment NGK or Denso iridium. Bosch plugs are a no no. Replace coil packs on those two cylinders or move number 4 to one of the positions and see if the code changes, if it does then you have bad coil packs.

I know in the Sacramento area you always, and I mean always, except when I drive, you see woman behind the wheels of RX 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation. Even the local media type that advertises drives one (I believe she is on her third one.) However I love my wifes RX400h, as it is a stealthy hot rod. Now if only I could get the color I wanted. Oh well, I did take the Soccer mom roof rack off. Wifey feels the car is taller, but not like a minivan. And she has a Parnelli Jones gas foot....Hince great mileage considering it is not driven like a hybrid...The Old RX300 really suffered under those conditions. And yes she looks quite gorgous in her Womans Lexus.

You should be fine....I did mine on my rx400h.but like I said the pump is very well built.just always use Toyota coolant. It is e pensive but the best

the water pump is driven by the timing belt so the information I gave you is kind of a not correct. That is why many replace pump during timing belt change....however the pump is very robust.....Toyota dealer would have been cheaper.

Well no debate, do not under any circumstance let anybody do a flush on your transmission, especially since the fluid is original. You will regret it. as for the timing belt, yes, water pump yes, spark plugs No, but if you must go ahead, but make sure they are Original equipment Denso or NGK iridium plugs like the original, (DO NOT USE Bosch plugs under any circumstance.) Repeat, drain and fill only on the transmission unless you know somebody that can do a fluid exchange with the use of the transmission pump. Just have them drop the pan, clean the filter (or replace if it is paper) and refill fluid to proper level. Good luck and enjoy your ride. replace the differential fluid yes. Coolant only with Toyota RED or Pink fluid....

Same nut goes on Toyota Highlander, so any Toyota dealership should carry it.

Even my RX400h lost a lot of value????? I bought it two years ago with higher mileage (87k) (2008 RX400H) for $24k out the door...Has made me happy because of the depreciation and I upgraded an old 99RX300 after having it for 12 years. So sometimes you can make out well....It is also just a matter of supply and demand on vehicles. Love my RX400H, it is a great ride.

The wheel well area has a tire cut out, but will only accommodate a space saver tire. Chevrolet answer is a cheap Chinese pump and flat fix....not to good for a gash flat tire. I found a space saver for $80 on ebay for him, but he hasn't ok'd the deal....Also the car comes with no jack or lug wrench....(Malibu) I went on their forums and it is a big stink amongst the Malibu owners.

A very true article, my buddy just bought the Malibu (2012) and was considering the Honda Accord...Now which do you think has better resale.? Bad move. The Malibu is so cheap inside and out. Doesn't even come with a spare tire. (I guess Government Motors decided to take Americans in more ways than one) And if you want a spare it cost $100 when you place the order but $500 if you have already bought the car. Quite frankly the Honda is superior in every way, gas mileage, worksmanship, and quite frankly much more updated. But many are commited to brand loyalty. Or are anti-Japanese. Funny because most cars are multinational when it comes to the parts. And Honda is made in US. If you drive the car for 10 years you have recovered your cost as long as it doesn't nickel and dime you. just my thoughts.

That is a tough one, if the oil leak is from the rear main than that is pricey....If from valve covers, those aren't bad. I would suggest replacing PCV valve and make sure there is not excessive back pressure causing the oil leaks. If you are on the original transmission you did good, but that could come into play in the future. the car is 14 years old, but is still a fantastic machine with very contemporary looks. New car payments suck. But picking up a lower mileage RX330 could get you in the next 10 years. Good luck with your decision....tough one.

The cooling fan itself could be test if one fan is still working swap or (sorry I have a great deal of electronics background) jump the fan to 12volts and make sure it works...If it works then you have either a sensor, relay, or wiring issue.

I would stick with the recommended weight. 0-40 is not required. I have a RX400h (2008) and use 0-20 weight with 130k miles (Mobil 1) and the engine is just fine. I would stretch the oil change to 6000 miles but with synthetic many go 7500 and beyond.

Is this the universals in AWD vehicle with drive shaft going to rear wheels....? If so look in phone book and look for drive line repair shop. Call them and get an estimate...They are usually a lot cheaper and can make sure it is balanced. If you are talking the two half shafts on the front wheels, they only cost around $100 or less per shaft aftermarket (Cardone brand) and get your favorite mechanic to replace them. I would never rebuild them...easier to just replace at that cost.

funny that you mentioned young people not wanting to drive, I too have heard from neighbors that there kids could care a less. I for the life of me cant figure that out, I guess because they get and have everything at home, and don't want to move out, that they are satisfied being home bound or using a skateboard. Also the average age now for moving out is 26 and up. Gas is expensive, insurance is expensive, and there are also job issues....all of these probably a component of the lack of driving.
