Loaded But High Mileage Worth It?
lenore replied to MoreOrLex's topic in 10 - 15 Lexus RX350 / RX450h
Only items I can think of is the spark plugs at around 125k miles. Hey lots of mileage equates freeway miles. Car should be great. No timing belt in this car, so just check for the maintenance and I would suggest a transmission fluid change. good luck -
Hey great news. Don't forget your Education money also...take advantage of it.

I Have Been Gone Awhile, Lots Happening...my Wife And I Are Literally
lenore replied to ArmyofOne's topic in General Chat
Funny I was born in El Paso, but haven't been back except one trip to San Antonio for my son's boot camp graduation. Good choice of states however, I have a niece there that says it is totally better than California. -
In order to change support bearings I believe you have to drop drive shaft, that is when it can be checked easily. Don't know anything about serviceable u joints, but that is how they used to be made on cars. (long time ago) Good luck, I know that when I sold my RX300 there was a vibration that I fought, and was about to do the support bearings. The new Owner replaced the two support bearings and all vibration went away.

The vibration sensation can also be the flex pipe on the exhaust just under the engine area....

I Have Been Gone Awhile, Lots Happening...my Wife And I Are Literally
lenore replied to ArmyofOne's topic in General Chat
That is truly outstanding. Josh, I hope you are OK and able to start your new life (without Army) and be very happy. I know your injuries have been multiple and can be very trying. God Bless you and your wife whom has been by your side. You are a talented young man and I wish the very best for both of you. I look forward to your post. By the Way tell us lots about Texas, California is getting so socialized that it gets unbearable living here. -

I personally would suspect the Drive line support bearings...They will create vibration. And they are fairly cheap. But I would call a driveline specialty business, you might find the prices much cheaper.

Service People Will Sometimes Will Say Anything!
lenore replied to LEXIRX330's topic in General Chat
I know of many independent that started from previous employees of Dealerships that felt they could do it better and give customer satisfaction. Stealershlps many times look too much at the clock and not focus on quality. -
Maybe a better choice would be a newer, but used vehicle with a CPO Warranty....Oh yes, buying used is king, and not paying the depreciation. Lots to pick from, and far better on the pocket.

Leasing in all cases is a bad deal financially, Consumers Report, and a long list of Debt free folks agree. Purchasing is always better especially with a low or no interest loan. Cash is supreme.

Cvt & Rear Differential Fluid

there is no power steering fluid. The power steering is an electric driven device on hybrid. -
Headlamp Assembly Replacement Options
lenore replied to atn1972's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
well and update to everyone, Lexus has now stepped up and is covering the failed headlamp assemblies due to moisture. Just got my letter. They will also pay for any previous repairs on that we as owners paid. Yippieeeeeeeeeeee -
Other Causes Of Ignition Coil Failure
lenore replied to Chrismac676's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
I use dielectric grease before plugging the coil back on the spark plug. Do you wash your engine. if so you may be building moisture up on the coil causing early failure. One other thing what plugs did you put in? I hope not Bosch plugs...stick with Original equipment Iridium NGK or Denso plugs. The bosch plugs are garbage.- 2 replies

Wheel Bearing Replacement 99 Gs400
lenore replied to Sandpa's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
If it is like the RX300, RX330, RX400h yes, and it requires a ten ton press. If you take the steering knuckle off and to your local machine shop they can press old bearing out and new one in. I personally have done this twice, and is not for the faint of heart. I destroyed the steering knuckle the second time and still cant figure out why. But The fix is cheap if you do it yourself. -
The oil pan uses a silicone based gasket (Toyota has their own sealant). But Generally they don't leak, I would suspect the rear main bearing seal.

My son-in-law's father is a CFO of a major hospital, and has studied the Affordable Care act carefully. He says we are in for a major disaster. The Act by his opinion and mine is nothing more than a direction that the administration wants to destroy the insurance industry and go to a one payer government program much like what is in CUBA. The communist fed act is nothing more than a redistribution of wealth, eliminating the middle class and making the rich richer and the poor subservient to the whims of government. Think about it the poor will have health care for free, and the rich could care a less about increases to their premiums as it really doesn't affect their income. The middle class are the ones that are feeling the pinch. This bill is bankrupting this nation under the powers of the IRS which will become the police state of the new Obama nation. He has brought this up at board meetings the terrible financial stains on the hospitals and doctors and they just don't get it. He says they think it is just going to be like status quo of the past with money still available. THe only ones making out in this deal are the radicals, rich, and poor. Middle America which became prosperous after World War II is going to be destroyed under this shift of medicare to Obama care and the eventual demise of a truly great Medical System (medically speaking not necessarily fair in coverage). It would have been much better to allow cross state competition and tort reform with an clause protecting pre-medical conditions from exclusion. The Harvard types have wanted to destroy our capitalistic form of economy for a long time as they want all pain and suffering to be felt by everyone. "Change" is nothing more than a Trojan Horse hiding the real direction that they want this country to head. These are nothing more than not Socialist, but hardcore Communist inflicting their radical ideas on our great nation. They are anti-Christian, anti-capitalist, and anti-rights. Thank you Lyndon Johnson for starting this movement years ago in your great society ideals. Now we have progressed to a people that want to neither work or have any civil liberties and feel government and the nanny state is the solution to their loss of integrity and the will to succeed. How sad we as a nation are no longer the super power and nation that stands for liberty and justice for all. We are in self destruct until we get rid of the old guard and the present Communist that lead us into oblivion. Those are my thoughts on what face us in 2014, and sadly if we don't wake up and get back to our values and can do attitude we are doomed.

lenore replied to Rossilexus's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
their are aftermarket kits for the input of devices, however the DVD in headrest was not a factory option. They are probably aftermarket. -
Could try some AUTO RX through the engine...As above you might have sludge problem, pulling front valve cover

Yes, do not do a flush.....Drain and fill with a cleaning or replacement of transmission filter.

I used a manual pump. I fit under my car without ramps, but some may find it tight. -
Knock Sensor Light Effecting Transmission Shift
lenore replied to wpvaughan's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
Sometimes the knock sensors wire harness could be the culprit. The insulation becomes brittle and maybe is shorting on the intake manifold. If the sensors where replaced than maybe the wiring is rubbing somewhere.
