Broken Transmission Pan Bolt - How To Replace?
lenore replied to whizpeachtreecity's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
If the bolt is flush with pan, maybe next time when you take pan off you could file a slot in it and use a screwdriver. Other wise drill a hole thru the bolt and use the appropriate easy out which can be purchased at automotive stores or HF tools. Good luck- 3 replies

Could be the Idle control valve. Maybe a cleaning might fix your problem.

If you hold the gas pedal down does the car stay running.?

Do I Stand A Chance? Anyone With Positive Outcome?
lenore replied to LexusJ's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
Quite frankly its a crap shoot, I know from personal experience that if you are not a loyal, serviced by Lexus customer, they say to bad. If you have had the car for that period is there any recourse of giving it back to the dealership? I Don't know what state you are in but different states have different laws on returns. Otherwise you are looking at an expensive engine fix to say the least. I will wish you the best of luck in dealing with corporate, I hope you are pleasantly surprised. -
A charging circuit wire would have to be ran from the front of the vehicle to the back. It would also have to have an isolator/ protection.

I Need The Denso Part Number For The Oxygen Sensor 1999 Rx300
lenore replied to 64bb's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
You know I have bought a lot of stuff from them but when you pick the product on Amazon sometimes it comes directly from them, if not the vender will show up as the agent that it ships from. I know a lot of folks have got their air/fuel sensors from Amazon with OE Denso and at a great price for the Old RX300. I hope you vote independent and think clearly (oh my you are trying to get me in trouble) Quite frankly both parties suck. -
Brake Module For 1999 Lexus Rx300 Checking Mechanics Price
lenore replied to Chique's topic in General Maintenance
totally agree, just don't feel the sensor assembly is a high failure item. Just have not found that anywhere. Too bad he is at mercy of mechanic, It would be a very easy check to see if that module is indeed the problem. I concur, that the stop light switch would normally be the culprit.- 5 replies

Brake Module For 1999 Lexus Rx300 Checking Mechanics Price
lenore replied to Chique's topic in General Maintenance
Note also when the brake light switch on the pedal fails, sometimes the cruise control will not work. I have never seen that module fail on these forums, So if it were me I would opt for the flea bay used one or your local junk yard. seems like a weird solution to me also. There is also a Stop lamp fuse (20A) Power goes from fuse to Stop light switch (located by the brake pedal) to the Light failure sensor to the Left, right, and high mount stop lamps. Very simple circuit. I wonder if you have a misadjusted brake lamp switch?- 5 replies

You would do yourself a favor and look on Amazon, they have had those sensors for cheap on many occasions and they are the OE equipment Denso ones...for under $60 -

lenore replied to Chique's topic in General Maintenance
Its is cheaper from Sewell Lexus but you have to register with them as being a member of this site. should be under $400. Couldn't find it on a diagram, but appears to be a rip, could be had on Flea bay for under $150 used, that is the route I would go.- 5 replies

Transfer Case Leak 2004 Rx 330
lenore replied to rfcbuf's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
I hope he didn't damage the shaft (scratch, score, etc) which might cause the new seal to leak. He needs to inspect it closely -
Transfer Case Leak 2004 Rx 330
lenore replied to rfcbuf's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Did the Toyota dealership say why they are continuing to leak? I would think they have a warranty on that work. -
That is a great price.

I wonder if the bearings are bad allowing too much movement for the seal to survive.? -
I know the RX400h and RX330 had headlamp recalls, but a little toothpaste with elbow grease could remove the yellow on the headlamp. As for the water inside the trunk, maybe a sunroof drain hose came loose, or the gasket on the trunk lid is damaged.

You know the best idea of fair price is look in the paper, use CarMax.com, or Auto Trader and see what they are going for.

Oh man you didn't have time to read your owners manual?

Opinions: Sell Or Trade ?
lenore replied to Shredmonster's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Or, if you are in it for the long run, keep it and fix it and drive it without continual car payments. A lot of those things could be done at an independent for much cheaper. I just replaced my radiator for $108. Maybe order parts yourself and have independent provide the labor. -
If the plunger is removeable, the core may be dirty and not allowing the movement in the solenoid. I used to work in the electronics field, and a solenoid would become gummed up with debris. However sometimes the coil weakons, and replacement is the only option. Hope this helps.

Look for a drive line repair shop, they would probably be 1/3 that price to replace the whole shaft. However It could also be the the support bearings which are less than $60 apiece (two of them).

2007 Rx350 Transmission Exploded
lenore replied to rnews's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Totally a mystery, the noise you heard is interesting as a moderator on Club Lexus had a torque converter failure on a RX300 that made noise before the failure. If that unit came loose that would explain a lost of pump pressure and the eventful explosion of transmission. -

Do you know if you had a transmission leak prior to the failure.? I wonder if it died after fluid loss. -
That is great news. Just for everyone info changing the fluid on those years is a very precise service as the temperature of the fluid has to be measured as well as the amount.
