  1. The dremel tool is cheaper, and then take a small cold chisel and knock off the remanning bits. If you are carefull you should not damage the threads. Cut into the bolt, but not all the way, then use the cold chisel with a ball pin hammer.
  2. If you want more bang for your buck, sell your car yourself, you will get more and then use that money for your deal.
  3. Try Toyota, maybe they will do it cheaper.
  4. However the magazines and the dealership recommend premium gas, not middle grade or low grade. Of course here in California the gas sucks, too many clean air addititives. Funny I when I go out of state and buy gas my mileage goes up about 2 to 3 miles per gallon. good luck
  5. If you have never dropped the pan, that may very well be normal, As long as the fluid has always looked good, you are probably ok.... And yes the timing belt says toyota, and mine also was in very good shape at 96k on my RX300. Good luck
  6. yea I agree, he is sucking you up to not feel bad about the 1000-.. The Timing belt, waterpump cost 493 at the toyota dealer. The tranny flush should only have cost about 150 to 200 tops. Make him squirm. Tell him the prices at the toyota shop are a lot cheaper, however you are a lot cheaper than Roseville Lexus which quoted me 1400 for the timing belt and waterpump only. good luck
  7. Probably some thing to do with the sun glass. Seems to me mine was that way from day one, but I can't remember. Oh well as long as it provides shade in the summer.
  8. Dont know, have noticed it on the rear, but nothing on the front side windows or from windscreen (british term)
  9. Wow, sure would like to know how you could diagnose that kind of failure in the Vsc coupling. I am also the nervous one now after two transmissions. Actually would like to know how that coupling system works in laymans terms. And is it serviceable without replacing the tranny.
  10. I hate to ask you this but were you wearing polarized sunglasses at the time? When you do the effect that you see is there on all cars.
  11. sounds like a dead battery, if you have a voltmeter check for 12.5 volts.also look at the terminals to see if they are corroded.
  12. I was always told there is no dumb question, just dumb answers.
  13. Thank you for the feedback, we are looking for a 2001-2003 Sequoia, silver, with leather seats and 2wd, for 25k out the door.
  14. After you clean it coat if with some undercoat, or bed liner spray.
  15. I would contact the Bureau of Automotive Repairs for the State of Kentucky and possibly the State Attorney General, The Better Business Bureau, etc. And see if you can get some satisfaction. Then go to an auto parts store and run some codes on the vehicle to see what is causing the check engine light. ( dont forget the gas cap being on tight)
  16. Hey i don't know about the ES but the RX300 has only one filter element, maybe they gave you two filters one extra for the next change. By the way I have had success washing the filter element and drying.
  17. Well said and thankyou for feeling the way most Americans do. If only our politicians were that way. God Bless America.
  18. I sure wish Lexus would step up to the plate and either reprogram the ecu or admit they have a major design problem. I too would not recommend towing. I am on my third tranny. Just peachy, considering the so called reliability of these overpriced toyotas.
  19. Dont know about the vibration, but the antenna, do you hear the motor try to go up? If so then the mast is probably damaged, and will have to be replaced. To do so you will have to remove the entire motor assembly. If you are not mechanically inclined then find a trusted mechanic. The Mast with nylon drive belt can be purchased as the dealership or at some of the online Lexus sites.
  20. We could start by inforcing the laws of the land and shutting our borders off to anyone except legal immigration. Right now we are still out of control. Funny when I traveled the world, you could not go from border to border so freely. What is with that. No wonder the enemies from within laugh daily at us. They know that all they have to do is cry foul and some ACLU lawyer defends the rights of someone who desires to destroy our nation, our society, and Freedom of religions. Their lies the problem, no freedom of religion in these hot sandy, holes of the world. Its their way or no way. And we want to make them the heroes? We have one sick media biased nation.
  21. welcome, the antenna will probably have to be taken out, can you pull the attenna up manually, if so the mast is broken. You can replace just the mast. As for the dash rattle, are you sure it is not the glove box door? this was a early problem.
  22. Well I hope all the terrorist get flamed, ultimately in hell.
  23. 93ls, the only absurd thing about this post is that we Americans forget too soon the losses and sacrifices that have happened in the past so that we can have the freedoms that we have. There are too many that want to sweep everything under the rug and forget the horrific attack on our nation as well as the savage attacks on our people overseas in such barbaric ways as a sword across the neck in a sawing motion. I say we should never forget the cowardess attacks on our nation for which so many have sacrificed their lives to give you the freedom to live the lifestyles which we have and God will our children and grandchildren can enjoy. A forum becomes interesting when people express themselves after hearing the news of the day. God knows many of the rights we have we take for granted. Such as in Saudia Arabia their women can't drive the Lexus to the store. These little rights are long to come before real peace and freedom comes to this world. my 2cents worth tonight.
  24. Takes a little knowledge to take door apart and replace the lock mechanism. I seem to remember you have a trusted mechanic. Lexus price unforntunately was $258. But I didn't know about the online discount dealers. By the way that was just the part price.
  25. Your too funny, and yes I agree after working on Brakes for 40 years I have had the same success you have by leaving the rotors alone, except when you get shimmy. Then I replace the rotor. Funny they seem to work fine, last a long time, and don't rot your teeth.
