  1. The throttle position sensor would not stop spark as far as I know, the crankshaft position sensor would stop any kind of spark to the plugs.Check the plug to the CPS and make sure it is mounted correctly.
  2. I have a shop press, the one thing important in pressing out a bearing or inserting is to only apply pressure on the outside bearing surface. The inner bearing (shaft) side would put undo stress on the bearing and damage it. your first socket which would apply pressure on the outside is the correct pressure point.
  3. I understand. Note when I do this process, if the bearing is still noisy or has lateral movement, I replace it. At my former Company (since retired) I used this process and implemented it and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in my service industry. I have found that many manufacturers used little or poor quality grease in the bearings causing premature failure. I generally have not experienced this with Japanese made bearings.
  4. I know this is going to be taken as shade tree, but I have popped the rubber seal off those bearings on many pulleys and regreased the bearing with a high temp grease and ran them for fine. Did this years ago on a motorhome, and recently on my neighbors Dodge Ram truck. The key is using a high quality, high temp (synthetic) grease. Then pop seal back on.
  5. Is there a crankshaft position sensor, maybe it got damaged.

  16. Oh Josh, I have wondered about you for a couple of years, Thank God you are well. Love your continued passion for these rolling pieces of Steel....Like your new wheels and look forward to your post on the Chevrolet Biscayne. Hey it is just a sister to your family of cars....May your day be great.
  17. two things, on My RX400h radiator there was a small hex head cap on the top radiator hose area. Also under the engine cover the radiator cap on the left side of the radiator. First the temp should not be going to just below red. You have either a bad thermostat or a air bubble in the cooling system. I would address that first.

  20. You could have a bad shock upper mount, Do you get rattle noise when hitting bumps in the pavement.? One other thought, are the tires worn? Some when worn start really riding hard, and make lots of noise.
  21. I fear you are not alone, one other member here said it took about an year. You could call corporate Lexus and see if they could speed up the process.

    Code p301 and p300

Is that the same code you are getting now? You changed three coils I assume on same bank of engine.
  24. ok, finally got the dreaded headlight moisture. took it in to get covered under the recall warranty and now they are telling me the car may have been in a accident and they can't cover it under the warranty. I have had car since 2010 and no accidents. the car fax report from CarMax where I purchased my 2008 rx400h was clean. the headlamp has no signs of damage other than moisture. I hate this warranty / no warranty. they want to charge 2 hours labor to diagnose whether the headlamp is damaged. I called Lexus customer no service and they opened a case bUT can't get back to me till friday. what's your thoughts, untIL this rain season I had zero issues with headlamps.
