Im trying to figure out the most economical way to repair/replace a torn window track on the driver window; result of an attempted break in on my friends car. Dealer said about $250. Biggest problem is a visible piece of the trim that sticks up and could be cut off, but the seal is not too bad when window is up so I am hesitant to do it. Im thinking of trying to locate an intact moulding in a junkyard and install, but wondered if this was the only economical solution others have found. Any thoughts/out of the box solutions? (the car is in good shape, and has about 150k on it, but is not perfect so creative fixes are probably OK).
