  1. Yes the latest recommended fluid is now GB brand (full synthetic) transmissiin fluid. Yes, it is expensive. One important thing to remember. Doing a transmission "flush" is NOT recommended after many miles....it will disturb any particles in the botton of the pan and very likely plug up the small valve orifices. This advice is a strong one from those in the transmission repair industry. They KNOW what they are talking about. Drain the tranny, remove the pan, remove any particles on the magnets, clean the pan, replace the filter, replace the pan using new gasket, then refill. No...you won't be able to flush the torque converter. No...there is NO drain available for tbe torque converter any more.....so.....you can't drain it. larrym3711 2001 Lexus GS 430
  2. Soooooo....I have had a Rear Light Burnout Warning on my Lexus GS 430 dash for some time now. I have tried various bulbs that seemed to fix it for awhile..but not long. Hmmmm...checking the forums I found this problem to be VERY COMMON! The only (and by far the best) fix is to REPLACE ALL OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME! I did that...and...guess what...all is well now. The bulbls were NEVER burnt out...NEVER!...but I understand as the bulbs "age" the resistance goes up...and finally it triggers the burnt out bulb warning on the dash....even though ALL BULBS ARE BURNING JUST FINE!! Word to the wise! larrym3711 2001 Lexus GS430
  3. I have a 2001 GS 430 that has the classic "dash clicking" coming from the center of the dash. It does respond to setting the passenger side to max temperature to stop the clicking...but under dual mode and normal operation...there is an irritating "center of dash" clicking going on. It does stop at times (usually after several minutes). Reading these topics...it appears to be one of : 1) AC directional damper motor, or 2) Servo Motor in dual climate control, or 3) AC solenoid. Other thoughts of others: 1) Clean the Cabin Temp Sensor, 2) problem with air mix servo (mode servo). What is the most likely problem here??
