  1. Thanks for the replies. So I can just take a wiring harness out of an 01+ GS and it would fit right in place of my old wiring harness? Or would I have to splice wires to get the wiring harness in place. Thanks
  2. Hi, I have a 2000 GS400 and I wanted to update my tail lights to the 01+ tail lights. Would they fit directly or would I need to do some wire splicing or change the harness? THanks
  3. Hi, I have a 2000 GS400 that was involved in a front accident. The front seatbelts are not retracting therefore. Apparently the passengers in the front seats had their seatbelts on and when the impact came they went flying forward with the seatbelts and pulled them hard enough so that they don't return to their original positions. I don't think they can be fixed but if someone knows how please let me know. Also, if I was to buy new ones, does it have some correlation to the airbags? Thanks a lot for your help. I appreciate it.
  4. Hi, my 2000 GS400 had its battery disconnected for about a month. When I started the car, the VSC OFF sign came on and right next to it was the VSC sign. Both those signs were on. The VSC sign indicated VCS was active but right next to it was VSC OFF. I know it is off though because I cannot even turn a corner without screeching tires and I cannot floor it without peeling out. How can I get my traction to work? Thanks
  5. Hey, does anybody know how many different types of L-tuned wheels there are out there? I am looking for 18's for my GS400. I am sick of seeing the same wheels on every GS so I think the L-tuned ones would give my car a different look. Also, what kind of tires what be the best for the GS400? Thanks a lot.
  6. The M stands for manual. It is for tiptronic. Now, the car won't even start. I drove it about 10 miles and parked it. Now it won't start. There is definitely something wrong with the electronics. I am in New York City if a Lexus specialist wants to help me out. My mechanic is clueless about Lexus's. Thanks
  7. My GS400 was involved in a front accident. Now, it has many electronic problems. The shifter doesn't move into any gears and finally when i pull with a lot of force, it goes into drive but says M in the speedometer. It has many other problems. If anyone out there knows about GS400 electronics please PM me because i am looking for a mechanic. Thanks
  8. Sometimes, I push the gas pedal and it works. Other times, i'll press the gas pedal and it'll go straight to the floor with no effort. It is as if it's not connected to anything. But, if i start the car again, it'll be fine.
  9. Thanks a lot for your reply. It really helped me put two and two together. I forgot to mention that sometimes the car will revv fine and the accelerator will go down. If it doesn't push down, I turn the car off and restart it and it works fine. Maybe you can make something of that. Thanks
  10. Thanks for your reply. I am not eligible for a warranty because my car has a salvage title. Does anyone think this could be an electronic problem? I can slam on the gas and it feels like the pedal isnt even attached to anything. The engine won't even revv. Thanks
  11. Hi, I have a 2000 GS400 Platinum Series with 34k miles on it. I am having problems taking the shifter out of park. The shift knob is extremely hard to move. Finally when I do get it into drive, I press the gas and nothing happens, I can push the accelerator to the floor with EASE and it won't even rev. Sometimes, it runs fine though, but the shifter is always hard to get into drive. Could this be a cable problem or a transmission problem? Thanks
