Scratch the last statement. My radio has started to fade in and out again. But it looks like a loose connection in the same area.

also fixed my radio volume which no longer fades in and out.

Found the broken white /black wire and spliced it. No more downshifting and "R" indicator light when braking. Million thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need my driver seat and maybe the rear replaced and may go with a custom fit with leatherseats.com. How did you remove the rear seats? Were they bolted down?

I had the same problem and found it to be the sunroof drain hoses that runs into my trunk through a hole right below the antenna. The end of the hoses were somehow pulled out of the hole and was laying inside the trunk and so when it rained or when i washed the car my trunk had water that covered my spare tire.... I'm guessing the previous owner had inadvertently pulled it when trying to fix the antenna. Anyways, I rerouted them back through the hole and problem fixed......

Hi all, I also have the same problem. To get the tachs working, I would have to bang on top of the dashboard. I called the lexus dealer and they said it was the instrument cluster that is going bad. They quoted me $1200 for the part and $250 for labor. Curt, If you could provide us a step by step procedure on how to fix this problem. I would greatly appreciate it. Regards, Jim
