  1. My LS430 gives exactly the same temperature indication. This is absolutely perfect! Jac
  2. Maybe a stupid remark, but is the real fuel consumption in accordance with these figures? The trip computer makes calculations, and there could very well be one bad input into the calculation offsetting everything. If you calculate the average consumption each time after gas refills, do those figures comply with the trip computer values? Jac
  3. In the Netherlands, Lexus Link never existed, but the cars do have the roof antenna. Possibly because it may look a bit odd with some masking plate i.s.o. the antenna. (I am also happy with the fact that the radio antenna is printed on the rear window. Reception is good and no antenna motor to fail.) Jac
  4. You might mean the antenna on the roof (for the Lexus Link). The antenna for the navigation is located elsewhere (under the top of the dashboard, in the middle): Jac
  5. The spare tire is not measured in the LS430. Some cars have direct sensors that measure the air pressure in the tires, but that is not the case here. All measurements are indirect. The sensors for a.o. the ABS measure the rotation speed of all individual wheels, and if there is a change with what it used to be (just after "initialization"), it reports that there is a problem with the tire tension. Like curiousB said, just initialize (as per instructions in the manual) and take it from there. Hope this helps. Jac
  6. Make sure that the disc is not older than the one you already had in the system. It seems that it is not possible to get an older disc working once a newer has been loaded.... Jac
  7. I hope that I am not stating the obvious, but are you sure that the switch (to prevent opening the trunk) is not pressed? You can unlock this switch with the key. Jac
  8. I think there is a 12 year guarantee for certain rust problems. This guarantee is with the vehicle and transferable to next owners, so it still should be applicable. If the dealer you bought the car from is not a specific Lexus dealer, you could ask advise from a (real) Lexus dealer. Hope this helps you a bit further... Jac
  9. In the Netherlands all 2004 LS430s have satnav (and the MLevinson audio and bluetooth and 18") as standard. Jac
  10. And, not to forget, they put in the 6-speed gearbox. Which, to my limited experience, is superior to the 5-speed. The engine makes on average less revs and so it is yet a bit quieter in the car! Over here for the 2004 model, the 18" wheels are standard. Not sure if that is an advantage though. And most(?) versions (all over here anyway) have bluetooth standard in the 2004 model. Jac
  11. Hi girls and guys, Since a week I am a member of the Lexus-driving community myself It is a 2004 LS430 "executive" with 115,000 km = 71,500 mi. Colour is Navy Blue (8P8) and the leather is Ivory. At the time (2004) the sales price was a whopping € 108,000 (about US$ 147,000 at the current exchange rate) due to exorbitant taxing in this country. Over here there were only 2 versions available: "executive" (like my car) and "president". The "president" version has it all, and might very well be similar as the UL in America. The "executive" basically is the same but lacks the adjustable back seats and separate back air-conditioning unit. Both versions have the air suspension, 18" alloy wheels and the ML audio with navigation. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that hopefully there will be very little repairs and trouble. I most certainly will be asking several trivial and stupid questions in the (near) future, but please have patience with me... Jac
  12. That is an interesting remark! From most posts I get the feeling that these engines will last forever, but obviously not so. I hope it is not too much off track of your subject, but could you elucidate a bit on what went wrong with the first engine? Thanks. Jac
