2003 Gs300 Cel - Help Please

Thanks for the welcome, and I appreciate the help! I got a 3yr/36K miles service contract on the car when I bought it, so regardless of what the repair is going to be, I will only be out $100 for the deductible. :) -
I have a 2003 GS300 with the Navi/ML sound system. When I put in a destination and begin, where I should be hearing a voice giving me turn by turn directions, all I hear is the sound of the music I'm listening to cut out briefly when I should hear a voice, but the volume just drops and that's it. Any idea why I'm unable to get a voice from the Navi? I have checked the settings, and the volume is set at an appropriate level.

I recently purchased a 2003 GS300 w/ 79,000 miles. A few days ago, my CEL came on, and the VSC lights. I took the car by Autozone today and got the code. It's P0420. The description says: Catalyst efficiency below threshold - bank 1. Does anybody have any idea what this means and what the repair would possibly be? I appreciate any help.
