  1. I have 3200+miles on mine and it still eats alot of gas. I do regular in the winter and super in the summer. I will admit, I have a heavy foot :whistles:. now that I am using super, the car accelerates better. My father-in-law's 2005 RX330 eats aot of gas also. This is his third RX3xx, and of the three the 2005 eats alot more gas. I got to drive my mother-in-laws 2001 ES300( 17,000miles) for a week in city driving. It got great mileage and NO LAG!! Tap the gas pedal and the car moves. No lag at any speed. I loved it! The car felt lighter, more responsive then my car. Which do i perfer?? The 2005 ES330 ofcourse. It is much smoother and quiter, but i would love the acceleration of the '01.
  2. wow, Sorry to hear about your car. Was this a Lexus dearlership?? I'm taking my car for its 1,000 mile service and i hope they don't create any swirls when they wash it. Or bang it up.
  3. Congrats on the new ride Boris :) I wanted my car in that color also but I would have waited along time. Enjoy the car
  4. thanks guys. i stand corrected about rpm at start. i stated it was 2000-2500 rpms. it is actually 1500 rpms. the car is a 2005 so i think steviej is correct. i will try a different brand of gas. once again thanks guys.
  5. I bet this topic was covered, but has anyone have a rotten egg smell coming from the exhust?? I think its coming from exhust. Also is it a good idea to let the engine run for a few minutes after a cold start. I notice the rpm is about 2000-2500 when i start the car. After a few minutes the rpm gets lower.
  6. Actually I was picking it up that day. I let my wife choose the car, and she did a great job. It was the first time meeting the dealer. He's a friend of a good friend. I got a great deal on the car. His boss didn't want to give the car at the price he was giving. I hope he's still around when my lease is up in 3 years so i can get a great deal on my next one.
  7. The sound system is not that bad, it has good bass. In fact the bass will make the mirrors shake. I never listened to the ML system so i can't compare the two.
  8. The person at the dearlership told me to use regular. I have not used any other octane since getting the car one month ago. The car has been running well. Perhaps on the next fill up i will try a higher octane.
  9. Congrats! I think your going to love the ES330. I love mine sooooo much!
  10. Howdy All, almost got into an accident. This ****head got me so mad! Long story short, two lanes ,i'm in the left lane and the other guy(in a van) in the right lane gets in front of me,then he guns it into the right lane.we get to a big intersection, (three lanes in each directions)The ****head decides he needs to make a left from the right lane :chairshot: ( he was half a car length ahead) so i stomped on the brake and swerved to the left. I was doing about 30mph. I felt the brake clicking and the car stopped really quick . Thank God for ABS and brake assist. I noticed this was on the phone. This took place in about 3-4 seconds.
  11. I drove in the rain on saturday here in New York and i noticed that the car didn't have much pick up from stop and go . I had to give more gas than on a dry day. I was wondering if it was traction control. I've driven the car for a total of 3 hours(in three days),one of the hours on wet pavement. I've been very busy at work so not had much time behind the wheel. I think about the car all the time. The other day I took the car to work and parked it on the street, all i did was worry about her. I almost couldn't work, thinking about her getting bumped or scratched by other drivers. I really love the ES
  12. Steviej you are correct i am in fact driving a 2005 ES330. Why would i post a question on this Lexus forum about a non Lexus automoblie :P Thank you for answering my question. lexusk8 thank you also for answering the second part of my post. :)
  13. is there an overdrive button? or does overdrive kick in when in "D"? i just read the RX forum and someone says they have a button on the gearshift stick for overdrive. i went over the manual and don't recall any buttons for the ES.(i'm too lazy to look in the manual right now.) also how bad is bird dropping's on the ES paint?? i read the infinity has cheap paint and bird droppings eat away at the paint.
  14. hiya i too got my 2005 ES330 yesterday, i must say its one smooth car. i also felt the lag when pressing on the gas, but i feel its no big problem. when coming out of low speed (almost stopping) i was stepping on the gas pedal pretty hard to accelerate and really felt the lag and alittle lurching. but when i press the pedal softly the car would lag, but was smooth as butter. the lag was less then one second. i would like the brake to be more sensitive like the honda accord and the rav four. when i tested the accord it had no lag (v6 model) the car took off as soon as my foot touched the gas pedal(even made the tires squeek). i dont know if the accord has the electronic throttle control or not. i'll take the ES over it any day. the lexus dealer told me the ES didn't need a breaking period. in the manual it says not to rev to high, don't break to hard and don't drive at a constant speed for 1000 miles. i would like to thank SW03ES for giving advice on how to use the E-Throttle :D i hope you enjoy your new car ashley. cheers
  15. howdy, does anyone know if this lurching happens in the 2005 ES330? because i'm getting one in a week.
