  3. I did mine myself using the repair manaul as a reference, I had three valvves out of adjustment two on the intake and one on the exhaust. It works just like jeremyp said, the tool you need is a blow-gun for the air compressor a mirror to see with, made sure you do not drop a shim in the openings, and this tool at this location http://store.autotoolexpress.com/sch88250.html.
  4. This can happen for many ressons according the the shop manual. If one of the temperature sensor is called upon and doesn't respond the light will flash. The compressor is working fine or else you would not have cooling. They are four sensors that control the system, one by the front bumper outside, one within the evaporator housing, one on the dash normally by the radio, and the solar sensor. The self tesh will not alway notify of a bad sensor.
  5. Is the Service engine light on also, they are directly related. It also is inlocked with the braking system. Does the brake system work fine?

  7. I had the same problem, If you have the mobile phone in the console, there is a connection behing the driver under the rear seat (spray with a good contact cleaner. If this connector does not fix the problem, I can say that 9 out of ten times it is the speakers. There are several choices in that catagory to choose. When I had this problem it was the back speakers, I purchased a set of Nakimichi SP-52C speakers for all four (front doors and rear deck) corners, I love them, they are crystal clear and work flawless.

  9. Attached are the engine codes from the SC400 manual.
  10. While you have it apart check the resistance on each of the plug wires. the resistance should not exceed 25K ohms on any wire.
  11. CODE 25 and 26 are lean and rich fuel mixture errors. most often the problem is with a fuel filter, or one of the main oxygen sensors. The Mass Air flow sensor measures the tempature of the incoming air and calculates the air flow based on the difference of the tempature of the incoming air and a set point programmed into the ECU. Most often this is not the problem with a code 26 aznd 26.

  21. :( I have a 92 SC 400. I just had a 4-whell alignment done at Pep Boys. The car still dart all over the road and follow every contour of the road. Please help. What could this be.
  22. Disconnect the wiring harness from the amp, check continuity between the Red wire and the White wire, and between Black wire and the yellow wire "NOTE THIS IS THE HARNESS THAT COMES FROM THE HEAD UNIT, NOTE THE ONE THAT GOES TO THE SPEAKERS". If you do not have continuity between these terminals, remove the head unit and check continuity on the wiring harness from the head unit end to the amp end. Chances are it is just like my system was when I had this problem and the head unit was bad.
