The assembly is held in with clips, no screws. Open the ash tray. Pull hard. You may need to pull one side out at a time. You usually do not need to pry open with anything. But if prying is required, use a cloth to protect any surfaces that may come in contact with the tool in protect from scratching. That's my highly technical contribution. Can anyone beat that?

My key-remote for the GS300 is is worn-out and ugly. Someone told me it's around $300 at the dealer to replace this. Anyone know of another source? This is the remote that the key installs into, not a separate remote that goes on the keychain. It has 3 buttons. If possible, I'd like one with a 4th button to turn red traffic lights green. Otherwise, 3 will suffice. Moo

Why is it that there are so few Lexus Discussion groups? This one seems to be the most popular, yet there are so few people posting. BMW has a ton of discusison groups. The most popular ones have thousands of posts in some categories. You can find info on anything from stereo wiring diagrams to maximum wheel/tire combinations. There's so much to talk about! Why ain't anyone talkin'? A Lexo is no less of a car than a Bimmer.

Anyone have any opinions on lowering springs for my 98 GS300? I'm thinking Eibach or H&R to lower about 1.25-1.5 inches.

My 98 GS300 plays burned CD's just fine. But I don't use the head unit's CD player that often. I usually use the changer. I've found that CD changers are usually better at playing CDR's than in-dash units, OEM or aftermarket. My Acura TL's head unit has probelms with certain types of CD's after about a year. The problem got progressively worse with time. Lense cleaners helped slightly, but in the end, the performance still deteriorated until it wouldn't accept any burned CD's at all. I installed an Alpine changer in the TL and it has had no problems since. I've also had the same problem with a Kenwood CD head unit I have in another car. On CD types: You'll have better luck with gold or silver (on the back-side, not label-side) than with blue.
