  2. Looks like it has a timing belt: http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/2008-lexus-rx400/timing-belt-kit/
  3. Congrats on the "new ride". You are going to love the new RX 450h. Have fun reading the manuals---good for some winter reading material.
  4. Here is the link to search for any TSB's. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/tsbsearch.cfm I have a 2010 450h (Purchased new in October, 2010), and I do not have that loud sound at idle that you have. The best bet is to do exactly what you are planning to do---park next to a few other 450h's and listen to the difference at a Lexus dealer.
  5. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Energy+MXV4+S8 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Energy+MXV4+Plus I do not think either of the MXV4 tires are worth driving in snow/ice conditions. I have the MXV4 Energy on a 94 Lincoln Mark VIII, and it does not do well in snow/ice. I do not think it is worth getting into an accident to keep the MXV4 S8 tires. I would purchase true winter rated tires and sell the S8's for whatever you can get for them.

    New Ride

Just purchased my 1st Lexus this month. Traded in my 02' Acura MDX for a new 2010 RX 450h. Decision was based on the Lexus comfort, overall ride, quality, and the high hybrid gas mileage. Looks like a great website/forum, and looking forward to enjoying the new Lexus. The Lexus is quite a contrast from driving one of it's other garage mates---my 55' Chevy.
  9. Interesting to see that the poll goes from 60-69 and then to 80 +. Not sure what heppened to those 70-79 !
  10. A great find for that size tire. I was looking in a different category and did not see the street/sport truck all-season one. They already shipped my Michelins, so I will have a lesser rated tire vs. the one you pointed out. I should have checked all categories for that size. Here is the category I was checking in. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS Thanks for pointing out that tire--will keep in mind for the future. Will be happy to dump the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400's.
  11. For those considering new tires, I rely on the Tirerack "survey" results to help make my choice. I have found their survey results to be pretty good as far as giving you basic info.on the good or bad as far as comparing different tires. I have ordered tires from Tirerack 2 X, and they ship the next business day (UPS), and you get your tires within a few days time. Sometimes Discount Tire/America's Tire will match their price. I just purchased a 2010 Lexus 450h last week and looked up the tires on Tirerack (Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400's). They were rated as very poor in general (rank 56 out of 58 for highway all-season),and especially for rain/winter conditions. I decided to order new tires from Tirerack and will be replacing these this week (< 200 miles on the OEM tires). I opted for the Michelin Latitude Tour HP as they were rated pretty good and they had the size (235/55R19) for my SUV. If the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza's or the standard Michelin Latitude's had come in that size, I would have ordered those since they are rankled # 2 and # 1 respectively in their class of tire.
