  1. TC? whats that?
  2. yeha i know, i played the knee game too...thanks :)
  3. I love Cashmere! It's probably my favoirte color that Lexus made! Beige is my favorite color in general, I guess it only makes sense that I like it on cars soo much! My old ES300 was Cashmere with gold emblems; I love that combo! B) Black looks nice when it's clean, but it's too much work. Plus, my black has no clear coat, so long term durability lacks. What part of DFW are you posting from? Blake, I thought your LS was cashmere for a long time, and maybe it's because you used to have your cashmere ES as your avatar. It shocked me when I saw a pic of your LS. I used to have a black Benz, and it was fantastic when it was clean, but what a pain to keep! I moved to the country and couldn't keep it clean. At least the cashmere doesn't show the dirt-road dust as much. I work near DFW airport at the center of the Dallas/FW area, and live northwest of the area near Decatur, in rural Wise county. I tell you, the Wise County Lexus Club is HOPPIN! I think there are a total of 3 Lexuses in all of Wise county. Keep us posted on the arrival of your new baby, Sweet. ( I say that because I'm interested, AND because I didn't want to be pummeled for hijacking the thread ) Man lexus looker, the next time im in DF'Dub (my parents live in NE Tarrant county, Keller Area) then we need to get together!
  4. Well thats no fun at all... makes no difference, they still come down the hall ;) And it was a false alarm, i just have to get my own internet connection in the next month, my old roomate decided to leave this connection on for another month.
  5. I'd just do more of what you did...shop around some more. Different tint shops are going to carry different tints, one of them is bound to carry a close match. ;) I don't think brand is all that important so long as a chimpanzee doesn't install it, and it's got a good warranty. Actually, brand makes a huge difference. 3M/Llumar films dont fade or crack over time, and they are easier to apply, yeilding flatter and cleaner installs.
  6. I hope they don't move the chick that wrecked the Neon in with you. they cant, females cannot be moved in with males in the same room.
  7. 20% Llumar High performance Metallic Film...this will likely give you the closest match. i used to be in the industry, and still know people in it.
  8. they are making me move out of my apartment and into another one, so i am gonna be without internet for awhile...just thought i would let you all know. im not sure when i will have it up and running. EDIT: actually they are moving someone else in with me, and i will have to get new internet connected.
  9. compaq presario 700. unfortunately, its ANCIENT... circa 2001, but it still does the job, trucking along!
  10. Jill! long time no see! how are things? I will recover, took my first steps on crutches on friday. YAY! hey what part of Penn. are you in? im in Northern NY. up for a meet? Everything is good here. I sure am glad that you are moving along. I'm in Pittsburgh. When did you get to NY? i got here on oct. 3rd, 05. im deploying august 1st 06. ill be in the middlesex NJ area in a few weeks, u anywhere near there? We are pretty far from NY. It is driving distance, but still far. I am not that close to NJ either, Closer then NY, but still not that close. It is about a 8 or 9 hour drive to NY and about a 6 or 7 hour drive to NJ. Got your PM ;) I understand completely about the drive. no worries :)
  11. i agree, before you sell it, hang on to it a little while, and i will give you what you ask when i come back from Iraq. Thats in STONE.
  12. One of my good friends died back home in Texas on saturday afternoon. Father of 5 kids, nearly 42 years old, retired Soldier. He dropped his kids off at a friends house or something...and he came home and took a nap. his wife went to wake him up 2 hours later, and he was dead. He was an awesome dad, and husband. Maurice "Big Mo' " Simon: 1964-2006 RIP. I havent talked to his wife yet, i just found out about it an hour ago. i will update you with the cause of death as soon as i find out. I used to work with him at motorola as a cellular phone repair technician RIP Big Mo' , Godspeed, and a soldiers passage through to heaven.
  13. agreed. I am trained to disarm by force without using a weapon, but i carry a weapon almost every day at work. so i feel almost naked without one.
  14. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?s...=&fsop=1&fsoo=1 Autoparts stores. 88-91 Camry. Replace/re-grease the reay sway bar bushings, and check/replace the sway bar end links. it is alsoa dviseable to replace the dogbone suspension mount. You need to find rims along those specs. FYI 2005 Scion TC = 5*100mm, +45mm offset AFA Tires The famous Miata Tire Size Calculator The cruise control has nothing to di with engine vacuum. It is a large electromechanical arm. The throttle cable goes inside it, the accellorator cable comes out & goes to the throttlebody. Take the cover off it & see what's going on. toys is right. does your cruise light flash? if not then it isnt a problem with the electronics, its mechanical.
  15. Here's your PCV: My 2 cents... ** Cheap aftermarket PCV valves are a waste of time and money - they leak and are generally pieces of plastic crap, in my experience. Use a Toyota one, the difference in quality is worth the extra $$$. ** ALWAYS replace the rubber grommet and the rubber hose when you replace the PCV. They will both get hard and will leak over time if you leave them. The grommet can be a PITA to get out. Don't try to "save" it - just get a new one when you buy your OEM Toyota PCV. I just cut through one side of my old grommet, grab it with some pointy-nose vice grips, and rip it out of there. A bit of oil on the new one, pop it right in. ** It's amazing what a cheap and easy to change piece like this PCV (+ hose and grommet) can make to the operation of your engine. Well worth the minimal effort!! tck... Holy old thread batman! I agree with all the above statements, excpet that a PCV valve is a PCV valve. as long as its metal, it will last.
  16. agreed. I will carry at all times when off post when i turn 21.
  17. cant do that tom, they are felt, liek a pool table... but your thinking correctly for normal ones :)
  18. Tonight, one of my fellow soldiers, a female, just bought a brand new 05 neon. one of the last ones on closeout. Well, she had it a total of 1 hour, and its totalled. she entered the parking lot of my barracks doing well in excess of 30MPH, and i just happened to have the digicam handy. she went to turn into the lanes for the parking spaces and instead slid sideways, into a humveem and pushed the humvee into my sgt's mitsubishi montero...what a mess. Sorry about the image quality. strange thing though, the airbags never went off...she hit the thing square in the sensors...
  19. haha, i was thinking more along the lines of Mr. Rotor. Glad to hear you fixed it NC. you should call, ill do a shot with you to celebrate :)
  20. Plastic liners break/discolor over time, they also fade horribly. mine are plastic on the ZX2, i repaint them with flat black paint every spring....works for me.
  21. change the tie rods yourself, get a ball joint separator from autozone ($10)and then count the threads on the old tie rod ends and set the new ones to match. this is a "roughly accurate" way of telling you th setting. then drive it to your local shop to have an alignment done, $100. check your ball joints too, if they are crakced/dryrotted or leaking any grease, they are bad too, but they clunk when they go out. the bolts on the ball joints should be 9/16's and the nut on the outer tie rods dhould be 7/8's.
  22. Thats what i thought, too. but i saw the guy heat the things up and try as hard as he can to get them turning. He quoted me about $60 each for inner and ~$80 each for outer(incl. labor), or vise versa. my car has 125k miles and is a 96. Any ideas with that sunroof rattle? thanks again ant 125K, the ITR's should still be good. if you turn left and your steering wheel is off center to the left, then you turn right and your wheel is off centered to the right, with play in the center, then your Rack and Pinion/Inner tie rods are bad. the outers are likely to be gone on a car with that mileage, their average life is about the same as the ball joints...60-80K miles.

  24. thats a big negative, the sludge was only on some 4 and V6 toyota engines. the 2jz-ge, is by far, the most rock solid engine on the market. with out frequent and repeated/constant abuse, its virtually unstoppable to 500K miles. i have seen more than a few 2Jz's with over 300K. that said the 1uz-fe V8 is right there with it, or maybe slightly behind it.
