-A Soldier's Heart, by R. Kelley. Listen to it here: http://www.bpfrommer.com/A~Soldier's~Heart.htm To Brian and Jake, 2 of my very best friends whom i lost to the war in march 03...Guys, im goin in to fight in your stead...I'll finish what you guys started. RIP and know all the promises you asked me to make, i kept. I know you all cant read this, but it gives me some solice. See ya on the other side. -
Im Inclined to agree wth these 2. As a performance tire, they are great. but put about 15K on them, they lose alot of their wet weather ability. they are cheap, and they do remain quiet and comfortable throughout their life, road noise doesnt seem to increase...i have an escort, if road noise increased, i would definately hear it LOL. they are an EXCELLENT choice for a car like mine or my wifes. especially my wife's, with her pedal-never-more-than-halfway-down driving style, they are well suited to her AWD matrix. But if you have any type of lead foot at all, and you want a tire that will last a long time, rethink your options.

hold on ill get a pic... And the tread pattern... and my old 1990 ES250...RIP...

My bad. I mixed up the ES and the SC for a minute there, the only years for a Manual ES300 were 92-94. The ES250 came in manual, from 90-91 as well. Sorry for the confusion.

actually, it wont be brand new, but i will get an LS400...or an IS300 5spd, more than likely. I just want to get my car paid off, thats the most important thing to me right now at this point. I wont come back with much saved money, but i will have most of my bills paid off and be put from under most of my debt when i get back. Upon my return, the pnly payment i expect to be paying is Meghans Matrix. -
Well LOC, its been fun. Unfortunately, my time to do what I have been training and wanted my entire life has arrived. My time to really shine as a Mechanic in the United States Army. I am deploying to somewhere in southeast Iraq (near the place where the Tigris and Euphrates riv ers meet, thats about all i am allowed to say) to join the fight in the war on terrorisim. I am assigned to Foxtrot Co, 210th Brigade Support Battallion, attached to 4/31 Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountian Division. My wife meghan will be on from time to time, posting updates for me. The living conditions are not good where i am headed, i will be 200 miles from the nearest phone. Internet will not be anywhere nearby, Showers will not even be easily available. I will have to make my own with a water can and a bar of soap lol. 120 degrees is a normal fall temperature in the location i will be, unfortunately i will be so far away from everything that i wont even have lavatory facilities. Every 4 weeks, i will be allowed to come back to a base that has communications to call home and to hop online for a quick second. it will be 4 weeks minimum between showers and hot meals. A steady MRE diet will be all i get for 4 weeks at a time. so yeah...needless to say it is gonna be the longest year of my life...As i said though, meghan will be on to update you on my status. A couple of the members here i will be meeting up with when i come back to DFW on leave on july 1st through the 16th. I leave sometime between 4 August and 17 August. But between now and then i will not be online, I will be spending every waking Moment with my Wife Meghan starting monday. Between now and monday I will be on to check the forums. So it was a pleasure, and i will be back in September of 2007. Pray for me guys, where im goin im going to need it. Real bullets will be flyin and people will really be dyin...

My grandmother has been (for the last 15 years) and will continue to use Gullo Toyota's service center. They are the best around there for toyota/lexus service. Not too expensive either, i think there labor rates are $60 a hour. -
yeha i forgot about that...good point. this is a common problem on the early.mid 90;s LS's

First, let me say that if the ECU was bad, since it is what throws the codes, its likely there would be no codes displayed if the ECU is indeed the culprit. there are several things that can cause cats to glow red, and all of them include the engine running rich. the reason why the cats glow red is because there is fuel inginting inside them. if those cats werent there you would be shooting flames from your tailpipe more than likely. because your car is doing this, the new cats you put in, are blown again. i would check the timing,a nd i would also check the injectors. Also check the coils. before moving on to the most expensive option...the ECU. replace the 02 sensors NOW though, cause alot of times, esepcailly on OBD 1 cars, they are bad and do not throw codes. EDIT: oops, old thread...my bad, didnt read the whole thing before i replied, glad you got it fixed tho...

Semmes to me it would be weatherstripping along the bottom of the door on the pass side...

I can tell you how to polish yours up if you would like. yours arent true chrome, they are steel, so they tarnish over time. if they are rusted here is what you do: Soapy water and tin foil (make sure the water is hot). scrub in sprials using the tin foil ball as a scrubber. when the rust is all gone, rinse. then put chrome/steel polish (preferable blue coral) on the tips and wipe them off, then wax. they will gleam like new.

Memorial Day Weekend Means Kicking Off The Modding Season Right...
ArmyofOne replied to ArmyofOne's topic in General Chat
we are 150 miles from the nearest toyota dealer with a body shop. the indie shop thats doing the repair cant start until the 26th (booked solid) and the parts take 7-10 days to get here, so the are ordering them on the 16th, the 26th they will start on the car and it should be done by the 4th of july weekend. only problem is i will be in texas with the escort for leave visitng family, and meghan will be too. so her sister is gonna go get it and keep it at her house till we get back. -

The Falkens are wearing fast because thats what Falkens do ;) Lookin good! Yes steve we established this. LOL. Thanks for the compliments. the more i look into it, the more i think it would be better to keep the car and get a beater for a truck to haul things. this little car is great on gas (even with the mods) i still get around ~30 city with a heavy foot. mileage on the highway remains at a steady 36-38mpg. I really want something i dont care abput anyways. If i buy a 15 year old rusted pickup truck, i could store this in the winter and keeps its value up (as much as possible, its a ford so it needs all the help it can get LOL) and go to and from work in the old truck in winter. I have new pistons on the way again... going from 11:1 to 13.5:1 this time. coming for free from a friend in TX. (went from 9.5:1 which is stock, to 11:1 the first time). The headgasket will handle it, as will the rods, but this time, it will need new bearings on the conrods...clevite 77's here i come! -

Don't pour any more $$$ into the car if your getting rid of it bud.......unless your getting an offer you can't refuse. B) If you want a car you can mod like crazy, consider getting a Subaru Impreza WRX or STi. :D Im considering something that will get me in less trouble, if i have a car that will go 0-60 in 5 seconds, i will go 0-60 in 5 seconds, if it will do 160-170, im sure i will try to hit that at some point...and i am thinking i need something more suitable to a family *HINT*... i think an 04-06 F150 may be in order... -

Yes i know, next weekend is the steam cleaning. a year of salt takes a toll on the interior too. The falkens are doing fine now that i have rotated front to rear. They are wearing fast, i have too much torque. They are about to stop wearing fast though, because im about to sell the car i think. The bass is fantastic, i thing i have a blown Alpine Type-S 6x9 in the left rear though. the sub is fantastic...i hit 130db very easily. the wiring is cleaned up now, i just couldnt wait to take pix lol. -
Well LOC, im kicking off another modding season and im doing it the right way, with a Big mod and a not so big mod...but both are very important... Also I did my Memorial Day Detailing, which marks the beginning of the detailing season as well. First, the not so difficult mod...PIAA HID-Look Driving lights. ^Ready to jet out of the garage! ^In the dark... ^The ZX2NER is at it again LOL... ^Sittin pretty in the Front Yard. ^in the light ^Chipgaurd and New Paint, the rust is GONE....also note the mudflaps so it doesnt happen again. ^ Chipgaurd and paint, more visible and also note the strip of Clearbra on prominent rust prone locations... In these areas, the paint chips and then rusts...and the paint continues to peel. problem solved. ^freshly painted brake drums and wheel wells. ^another pic, just because... ^The inside... ^the foglight switch...havent concealed the wires yet, i will do that tomorrow... ^the amp and sub install. ^the JL Audio 10W3 in the Elemental Designs Ported Enclosure...Again, i havent concealed all of the wires yet...thats tomorrows project... ^and oh whats this? a Handle??? I wonder what this could be for...? ^Oh, whats this? 3/4 inch MDF? an access panel for the spare tire??? ^Oh...and a Piano Hinge creating a trap door to get to the spare! SWEET! LOL. ^and last but not least...the lights off... Other things done today include: Painted brake calipers and drums (Black), Air filter and Fuel Filter replacement, Claybar and wax.

Agreed! B) Keep us posted on how things are going Josh. B) The body shop thats doing it is using all new toyota parts and tinting the paint. there is $4,753 worth of damage according to their estimate. Estimate #2 coming up today or tomorrow from a dealership. An update on meghan, she was complaining monday that her back was hurting, i made her go to the military hospital here on post, and they diagnosed her with severe whiplash with possible complications. they are running more tests as we speak. what a nitemare.
