ArmyofOne, I am in the Army, And we are an ArmyofOne, and i didnt want to get a lexus related name, one because there are too many of them and two, i didnt think i would have that lexus forever...and lo and behold...i was right *CHUNCH* anyway...i hope to be back in a lexus someday, but right now...its just not ifnancially feasable without buying one thats 10 years old...there are only 2 i will buy that are that old, one is Blake918's 300K monster and the other is NC211's LS4 cause everything that can be replaced...has been relaced and i know its all genuine toyota/lexus parts cause i gave him the guys name who gets all his stuff :D Also, i needed something faster...to satisfy my drag racing affairs (track only of course)

Well Everyone, One year ago today (at 230pm EST to be exact) I married my wife Meghan...AKA MrsArmyofOne. Been a great year and i know we will have many more ahead. I am sorry that i have to spend our very special day here in Iraq, but work has to be done. And she understands that. Anyway, I just feel like tellin everyone lol. Im excited.

what can i say, the wife and i love the matrix, the cargo room as saved us plenty of times...and the AWD, well lets just say it saved my wife this last weekend. the Fort Drum Area got 4 feet of snow in a little under 12 hours...my wife has had NO issues geting around, i would say that for the money, the AWD system is superb, but you will have to wait till next winter for a complete rundown from me on it...by the time we got it last year, it was almsot spring, so i didnt get to really test it. Does sound like the Rack is going, if you have a good mechanic, homer can hook you up provding he still works there, i havent talked to him in awhile...about a year now, kind fo lost touch when i wrecked the lexus. If you dont see that famous 10th mountian patch and the name "morrison" on the nametag, it isnt me LOL. but walk up and say hi to em nonetheless...it makes their day a little brighter...especially if they are heading back. i always buy them a drink or a meal, or at least offer. as far as taxes, i wouldnt know what thats like, i got $1800 and some change back (wife isnt working and military pay isnt great) and with no house payment or rent to worry about...well lets just say i dont do itemized deductions...there really is no point for me honestly. I will buy a house in a few years, after im done playing soldier. at which time i will be better educated and financially equipped to delve into the world of Uncle Sams Payment box...for now "hello, H&R Block? Yes i need..." :D I am at a steady net connection for the time being so i should be able to get on more often. Later ya'll.

My wife and I have the Matrix, which is really nice, and comes with an even better package than the package we got. Ours is nearly fully loaded, doesnt have leather or power seats, but it has everything else... AWD and LOTS of cargo space. and what are you talking about NC, everytime you think about selling the LS, something happens and you end up liking the car even more! your hooked, admit it. :D hey for $8,000, i might take it off your hands in a little while lol.

:cries: Yesterday, Dec 23rd at 1136am an IED struck a Fox Co Convoy (my company) south of our base. Specialist "Chuck" Norris (his nikcname used instead of his first name because i wasnt on a first name basis with him, we all go by last names out here). about 3 hours later, Spc Norris died of injuries recieved, after his third time being revived. He leaves behind a Wife and a 4 y/o daughter. His wife was notified at 0440 EST 24 Dec 06. Christmas eve...what a christmas present huh? Merry christmas everyone... :cries:

Hey all, just thought i would drop in and say hi. i havent had much time, i have been on the road for a month. Running around to all of the outer FOB's, checking on their HUMVEES and making sure nothing is going wrong with em. I got blown up twice by IED's out here in the last 2 weeks. and been in a firefight as well. Fun stuff...well not really, but you get the point. SOOOOOO :whistles: hit me with some questions, if you have them. Ill answer them as best i can. and to those who have sent packages, thank you. its appreciated very much.

On october 22nd, my battalion lost one of its best soldiers. Nick "Pops" Rogers was a medic with 4-31. He was killed in a firefight. He had a wife, kelly and a toddler, Jocelynn, with another child on the way. RIP my friend, you will be missed. I never thought that this is where I'd settle down, I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown, They gave me this plot of land, me and some other men, for a job well done, There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road, The man inside he cried the day they brought me home, They folded up a flag and told my mom and dad, we're proud of your son And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property, I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company, I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done, I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight, We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay, And when we finally found that cross, He said, "son this is what it cost to keep us free" Now here I am, A thousand stones away from him, He recognized me on the first day I came in, And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels, and saluted me. And everytime I hear twenty-one guns, I know they brought another hero home to us... We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done, We can rest in peace, 'cause we are the chosen ones, We made it to arlington, yea dust to dust, Don't cry for us, we made it to arlington

Technical Efi Question On 1991 Es250
ArmyofOne replied to carlfino's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
dude, it sounds to me like your ECU is working exactly as its supposed to. I dont knwo where you are located, but if the car is around any corrosive material (I.E., high humidity, salt etc) then the wiring connectors may have corroded on certian components...Otherwise, no...a 51 indicaes nothing other than the probems listed. pull your battery cables for 20 mins and see if the light goes away. the OBDI system is TERRIBLY unreliable in this car, i dont knwo what it is about it, but get used ot the light being on. The enmgine RPM doesnt change, because the ECU is compensating. Having said that, your car has the brain of a 1990 Camry V6...which really is no brain at all. the "ECU" controls 3 things, your electrical system, your EFI, and your fuel pump. thats pretty much it bubba. -
Well, I owned a 1990 ES250 for awhile, in the time i owned it i rebuilt it from the ground up (BADLY neglected by the previous owner). It got 13-17mpg in the city, around 20 on the highway. Dont listen to the curb weight sticker or anything that tells you the weight of the car...i put it on a scale twice and with a full tank of gas and my backpack in the trunk, it weighed in at 3,800 lbs...its not a light car by any means. Im in iraq right now, but once my net connection gets straight, ill be on more frequently. If you have any more ?'s direct them to toysrme and he will send em to me.

Well Everyone, Its Time For Me To Say Goodbye...
ArmyofOne replied to ArmyofOne's topic in General Chat
I didn't get a chance to ask him where he was calling from blake........all he said was it was international. A bunch of us should get together with Josh & Meghan when he returns. B) I've talked 2 him several times in the last week. Last day 2 call him! What we oughta do, is show up there a day, or two early. All chip in & turbo the escort. It's already running 12's N/A without slicks in street trim. Put that thang in the low 11's if he ever buys some slicks. That... Or we all chip in to put a new transmission in the escort. It's out of warrantee & The Ford dealership that rebuilt it rebuilt it incorrectly. He looses 3rd gear. no need for the trans, the warranty still covers that, they didnt cover the blower motor resistor. -

http://dailynews.att.net/cgi-bin/news?e=pu...uso0&src=ap I really dont have a problem with my american car. i personally like the styling of my car over amost anything else on the road in its clas, but thats why i bought it. i wont argue that a toyota celica is built better, but i like the way mine looks better. you would have a hard time seeling me on the my car is worse than yours because mine is a ford ZX2 and yours is a Nissan Sentra SE-R. I got REALLY good mileage all on my vacation (cosidering my mods, compression ratio, 7500RPM redline from upgraded engine internals) and i still topped 350-400 miles on a tank of gas (10 gallons for me). meghans car gets significantly worse mileage, quite honestly im unimpressed with it in that dept, it hasnt gotten over 27mpg since we got it, and its a 1.8L I4, smaller than the I4 in my car. but its heavier, and auto tranny and 4wd, so i let it slide. bottom line is, i have had really good american cars (95 ford contour, 384,990 miles and only a clutch replaced at 270K) and i have had really good imports, (the 05 matrix for example). SO...in the end, it comes down to you like and prefer. Im a firm believer that 95% of the time, if you maintain it and dont beat it into the ground, ANY car can be a reliable appliance for many years/hundreds of thousands of miles and be relatively trouble free. the other 5% of the time, whether chevy or toyota, the car was built on a friday and is a piece of *BLEEP* in the automotive world. trust me, my uncles 97 camry is a perfect exapmle, always well maintained, and only has 55,000 miles on it, cause its in the damned shop more than on the road.

How Often To Wax Or Not To Wax
ArmyofOne replied to Art350IS's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
I always use meguairs products for the most part. including the soap. -
after your warranty is up, until then, take it to the dealer. I don't think JPImpotz is warranty authorized, but I may be wrong. steviej He didnt used to be, until last december. He is now an authorized warranty repair center by lexus/toyota.

For Dealershi experieince, sewell is by far the best in the area, i have friends that work there in the sevice and one in sales and almost bought a lexus there myself, but the payments were goig to be too high, there was nothing anyone could do, i just couldnt get them low enough ( it was an 97 LS400 and they couldnt get the payment below 200 a month. and unfortunately, with meghans matrix, i cant afford more than that). it wasnt there fault, they could only go so low. but they did try their hardest, i even had a good interest rate (2.2%). but for service, I cn reccomend any other shop than JP Importz in Garland. 32101 security st. the number is 214-221-3135.

How Often To Wax Or Not To Wax
ArmyofOne replied to Art350IS's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
I absoultely agree with you. The Optimum No Rinse and the Protect All Quick and Easy Wash however aren't no water products, you do use a bucket of water mixed with the product, you just wipe the panel dry after washing as opposed to rinsing and no pre rinse is neccissary. These absolutely do work and introduce no more marring than standard washing. I've used Quick and Easy Wash for years. The downside is you cant flush out wheel wells and seams etc. I wax mine, once or twice a month, is it going to hurt anhything doing it this much? -
LMAO It's a shame I was still down here because I could have shown you all 5 of our stop lights and where we go cow tipping! LOL I'm guessing you mean the new Shell station on farmerville and 20? With the Quiznos in it? thats the one...the only restauraunt in town lol.

That's great news!! :D Yall have a safe trip back up north? You wave when you passed through Ruston? LOL Body shops aren't cheap. This glorified door ding in my LS costed over $1,800 to repair: What a rip off! It's a good thing the responsible party was insured! haha, wave? I blinked and missed it. That shell station there was where we stopped.

Well guys, nearly 3 months later and the matrix is all fixed. All total, $5,237.54, not a penny out of pocket. and Quite honestly, i am IMPRESSED. The body shop that did it, did it so well you cant tell it was ever wrecked. Im a stickler for detail, i have looked this car over time and time again and it is literally a FLAWLESS Repair. Just wanted to let everyone now the update.
