  1. If you have not resolved the issue with the brakes or the Strut mount/bushing, you may also want to check the big rubber mounts that have to be pressed into the lower control arm mount where the rear of the control arm mounts to the unibody. I had to replace mine a year or so ago. I currenlty have 205,XXX miles on mine though. Worth taking 5 minutes to look at them as I was having a shimmy problem I was chasing as well.
  2. I currently have 205,XXX miles on mine and I was experiencing a similar issue recently. I did a good amount of searching and found that a number of people pointed to a dirty Mass Air Flow meter. I bought an electronic cleaner and throttle body cleaner(both from AutoZone) and also cleaned the K&N while at it. I cleaned it all and it cleared up the issue. Hope that helps:) I just noticed that my profile says I still have one of my LS400s. I currently have a 2001 LS430.
  3. I would say to look into the bushing that is located where the lower control arm meets the frame. I had the same noise. There was also a slight shimmy in the steering at 55-60 which was not due to alignment. Once I replaced the bushings on both side, the noise an the slight shimmy went away. I can also tell you that you might expect to replace your ball joints before too terribly long.
  4. I had the same problem. It was the Fuel ECU...do not know if that is the same as the part referenced above, but the price is very similar.
  5. I had this same problem on my 92 and it was fuel ECU...hope that helps
  6. Err, your wait for the cheeper device (about half the factory cost) ended quite a while back :P http://diceelectronics.com/ipod_integration4.htm Here's a few pic's of the aftermarket device installed on Lexus, Toyota, etc. And it works great, and it only takes 30 minutes for a numbskul like me to install. Enjoy For those o you out there with an '01 LS430 with the in-dash 6 disc changer, the Dice will NOT work...do not waste your money. There is mis-information on their site. Also 2 of their sales agents said it would work. I called back in and one of their techs confirmed that it would NOT work for my car. I thought I had found a deal...for those out there that are lucky enough for the Dice to work, you are lucky...still looking here.
