  1. Hello. Have a 2003 ES300 with about 260k KMs (160k miles). Changed all struts with good quality "Assemblies" (Monroe type) which were already mounted on springs. Very disappointed with ride now. The old ones rode much better even after almost 18 years !!! If my mechanic hadn't thrown away the original assemblies, I would have put them back. If your springs are not broken, just have the struts changed with KYBs. Surprised at the quality of these original parts on these cars. Good luck.
  2. Recently had "ABS" "TRAC OFF" "VSC" and Park Brake Light all illuminate on a 2003 ES300 with 125K Km. A search brought up a possible faulty brake light switch - but brake lights operate properly so switch is good. I suspect it is an ABS fault which in turn causes faults on VSC and TRAC since they use the ABS function. Do not see why the park brake light would go on though. Is there a way to retrieve the ABS error codes? I was hoping it would come through the OBD2, but my reader did not see any faults. TIA for helping a novice Lexus owner.
  3. I am having the same problem with a 2003 ES300. From this thread, I will look at the brake light switch before going further. You mentioned that you used a computer to read the ABS codes - can you give some details as to how this is done. I thank you for your help. Thanks. I used a computer to read the ABS codes and, sure enough, it is the brake light switch ("stop light switch" on the computer read out). I called the dealer about the TSB. I was under the understanding that this is like a recall and would be repaired at no cost. I was told otherwise; the TSB just means that an improved part has replaced the original. Is that correct?
  4. Stupid question but what does FOB stand for with regards to the key? Thanks
