  1. I had a low tire and had tire repaired by tire dealer. Didn't reset low tire light on dash, so I tried to reset it by pushing button under right side of driver's side of dash, but couldn't crawl under dash to read button labels to be sure of pushing light reset button. After pushing button blindly, the low tire light remains on and my car wouldn't start unless I inserted smart key in ignition switch. It appears that my pushing the under-dash button without seeing the label has caused my smart key to not be recognized to start the car. Any suggestions?
  2. Issue seems to have cured itself. I suspect that the solution was connected to an update of the android operating system on the Samsung 4S smartr phone, as nothing has changed on the car's connection, bluetooth, computers, etc., so far as I know. In any event, the phone now works perfectly in the car connected through the bluetooth system. I do keep the phone connected to its charger while in the car, as bluetooth connectivity setting on the phone tends to drain the phone battery rather quickly.
  3. I have a 2005 LS430 Ultra with bluetooth wireless phone connectivity that worked flawlessly with my Nokia 6133 flip phone. I recently updated my phone to a Samsung Galaxy 4s and paired it to my Lexus, but now I can hear callers, but they can't hear me on car microphone. This leaves me with having to pick-up phone and speak inti it directly for calls - this defeats the purpose of hands-free calling. Any help? Thanks.
  4. I just had a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS all season tires put on my 2005 LS430 and am very plased with performance and noise level is better than the OE Bridgestone Potenza performance summer tires. Check out the performance ratings, tests, reviews and buyer surveys at tirerack.com for a great overview of tires.
  5. If you haven't already checked with Lexusdrivers.com website, you might register there, putting in the VIN number of your car and get a report of all dealer service history. You can also put in any non-dealer service that you have performed, so that you have a place to keep track of it.
  6. Forgot to mention - you have to have the VIN in order to check the Lexus Drivers website for service history.
  7. You can also check service history (from dealers, at least) on the Lexus Drivers website - https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home.do
  8. I had a similar problem with chrome wheels on my 1998 LS400, which my Toyota/Lexus specialty repair shop solved by remounting tires and applying some sort of sealer during mounting process. Had the problem continued, I would have sought out a replater and had the wheels replated had I been able to get through the logistic issues of how to drive while replating was being done. ??? Fortunately, I never had to address this problem, as tires held pressure between service intervals and I recently bought a 2005 LS430 without chrome wheels and sold the 1998 LS400, which was in pristine condition for it's mileage - 159,000. Good luck with the solutions offered and in working with your dealer!
  9. I bought smart keys (master and valet) from Sewell Lexus and had them cut both to my car by VIN number, which worked perfectly. I had to have my local dealer program the smart keys to my car at what I considered to be a nominal cost of $35. Great peace of mind to know that I now have extra key set.
  10. My park assist is not working either. Had my dealer check it out and the part (sensor) for one that is out is about $300, with additional $300 for labor. I think that if I could have it done by dealer for $175, installed, as an earlier post mentioned, I'd go ahead and do it, as I'd like to keep everything on my car working as it was designed and intended.
  11. Go to Sewell Lexus website. There you can join their club and get even better pricing than on-line prices. No cost to join, just provide info on you and car. Be sure to get appropriate version for your year and model car.
  12. Count me in on separate forums for 400's and 430's.
  13. While at dealer to have new smart keys programmed to 2005 LS430 Ultra Luxury, I mentioned that when I pressed parking assist button I get visual signal indicating problem with driver's side front sensor. Dealer checked and found non-functioning sensor and estimated repair cost at $640.00, about half for part and half for repair labor. I'll learn to park without sensors - maybe use "braile" method from old chrome & steel bumper days. Even if I spent the $640.00 to avoid marring my pristine bumpers, I can't keep the other guy from doing it, so why spend the $640.00? Ain't modern technology wonderful ... and expensive to repair!
  14. There should be several auto upholstery shops in San Francisco who can replace the worn leather panels for a reasonable ($150- $250) cost. Maybe you could replace with leatherette rather than real leather and save some money, but real cost is in the labor. I've replaced the driver's side seat back bolster (vertical panel nearest door) in my 1998 LS400 twice for $150 - $250 with real leather in closely matched color (since original has changed color over years of dirt & fading.)
