  1. Hey VBDenny: Sorry I haven't responded to this post for a long time. Very busy starting a new business in the DC Area. It will work with ABS. Here's a pic of the ones on the back. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/LS/LS_Rear_KIT
  2. Welcome to the club. Well, you don't have to get the Prelude. I still recommend the SC because you can stand out in a crowd (of Hondas), but you must be patient getting this car. Everything can be expensive since this is a NA-Turbo Toyota Supra (luxury'd). I would recommend you wait, and find a 5speed. It may take a while, but it's worth waiting for. If I was still in your position, I would get the SC over my G20, and make small modifications to the block. Start with Intake, headers, and exhaust. That should boost the Stock SC with an extra 11.8 bhp(Dyno'd on a warm day) and set you back a little over a Grand, if you don't install the mods yourself. The GTE engine is your final engine, once you've reached 25, and are ready to break STI and EVO owners. Perhaps a few Ferrari owners as well
  3. The knob looks a little big. I think you should ask Sparko about that. If they don't know, use a measuring tape and record the diametre, and then ask them. Let us know what you find. thanks
  4. It's going to be the same as switching the SC300's engine with the GTE-6speed. If you're in dire need for more power, and you've done the basics (Intake, exhaust) somebody has super charged the sc400. You might want to search the AUstralian websites, since they've got the same Lexus brand as we do. The supercharger does clear the hood, with the one they did. Worth taking a look.
  5. Yeah, the 1jz swap is going to cost you a lot of money. It's cheaper to go with a 2jzGTE swap with the stock SC AUTO trans, than 1JZ.
  6. Well, the guy who told you that, has never done it before. It's a little bit harder than that, it's no HOnda. WEEKEND job. You don't have to remove the entire clip, but loosen it up a little. It's been a while since I did it so I might be missing a step or two. Start by removing the skid pads under the front end of the car. remove the mudguard from the wheel, and then remove the headlights. There is one screw for each high beam light reachable behind the headlight. You might be able to remove the screw with a small screw driver, but I decided to remove the entire setup. The other one can be reached from the inside of the bay. You're going to have to remove the coolant flask and a few other things, if you can't reach it from underneath, Stretching a lot. warning. If you're trying to remove the front clip, there are a pair of screw-like strips, in the cold air ducts on the front of the car; you'll see it from underneath looking up. They're fake, it's a push-pin clip, a flathead screw driver to pry. I hope this helps getting you started. Goodluck removing the two housings, and if you need more help, let me know.
  7. I have JICs on my SC and my F5k, and so far they're doing their job. SK: It might be an Acura/Honda issue!
  8. that's part of a Blitz kit. <_< It would be interesting if you did cut the holes and added the vents. I think the taillights look kind of interesting; I wouldn't do it, since it's not flush.
  9. yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but then I thought, 1jz or 2jz. 95 SC300, 5speed, 189,100 miles--overheating a tad, but still running.
  10. No problems. Just pull out the panel from the dash, and take it apart. It's really simple and very easy to do. Just try to avoid yanking any cables while removing it.
  11. Steve: WOW!!!!!! Very Nice, very nice. You've got to tell us some more about it.
  12. don't know. but doesn't hurt to take a look.
  13. welcome back Bombsquad. the fluke should do the job. Ever think about upgrading the stock with an aftermarket setup?
  14. Good job. I totally forgot about this site.
  15. It almost sounds like something is loose.
  16. the info is true for SC300 and 400 til 1998. 99 onwards a better compression was available.
  17. well, I'm using Michilin Sport and racing tires on my F5k. They're really good. Pirrelli's are good too. I would choose Michilin, but that's me.
  18. there is a way you could try. Before you ship the car, talk to Motorex. they import Skylines, and probably put the car in one of their containers. They'll probably help you DOT legal-it, but don't know for sure. http://motorex.net/m_home.html Oh, I can't wait to start my shop! It would answer all of these questions and help you too.
  19. SC400Sundevil: Ever thought about upgrading all of the speakers with new Alphine or Bostons?
  20. IS300 turbo kit will fit the SC300. I can't help you with the pricing issue, since I haven't researched that yet, but I do know that the TOYOmoto Turbo kit will do the job too.
  21. WOW, something the Lexus dealers didn't tell me I hope they don't design the car like the SC430 :whistles:
  22. what year and series do you have?
  23. welcome to the club. I really don't know who can help you there, butI'm sure one of my fellow moderators and users will help you with that question.
  24. I remember trying to import my Skyline 34 here. The cost was around $7-10K, but you can find it cheaper with different importers. Isn't the Department picking up the tab for that? By the way, I'm jealous.
  25. Ralow: ever thought about going with 17s instead of 18s?
