  1. that's the bulk of it, but i'd recommend changing the water pump, temp sensor, and a coolant flush.
  2. Didn't we talk about this start-up issue on a different post? I remember mentioning the timing belt, the spark plugs and wires, and the other person was afraid the ECU would have been the problem. Is that you?
  3. You should get that Amp Replaced. PM "DCFish" see if he can find one for you, otherwise give one of these junk yards a call and see if they have one that can be shipped to you. Funny, i someone else was asking about this Amp issue on another post. http://www.automotix.net/partshotline-lexu...o-requests.html
  4. I was thinking gun-metal, but you've gotta do what you have to do first.
  5. Here's a list of services recommended by a number of Lex Techs including JP Importz. It will give you some ideas http://planolexusservice.com/Page.aspx?10
  6. also try this salvage yard. They have a 92 SC4 Naka amp http://www.automotix.net/partshotline-lexu...o-requests.html
  7. Very nice. No thoughts on giving then a darker finish?
  8. I believe I just removed the Upper mounting screws. It gave me enough slack to be able to bend the cover and add the housings.
  9. You may want to consider getting a 3.4 Stroker Kit. That should help you get the 400-500 rwhp with less turbo lag, or a larger turbo. There's plenty of space. Expect to pay a lot.
  10. My kit is from Vivid Racing, but it does require additional work to fit and finish. I'd suggest talking to an actual bodyshop who works with Custom applications, fiberglass, and alterations. Restoration Shops are usually the best choice, because the others will just fit it or make you buy another one saying it doesn't fit.
  11. Got your PM earlier. Here's a tutorial that will help Planet Soarer
  12. okay, I don't recommend using WD40 on an electrical outlet. Compressed air or a little Electric Cleaner from Napa should help clean the sockets.
  13. Oh!! sorry to hear that. I might be able to make you a diagram sometime this weekend, but this might help you. I pulled this from the ClubLex forum. ClubLexus
  14. Udstuengt: try looking at the fuse box in the dash. I get the feeling when the Best buy guys installed the Sony they may have spliced into one of the fuses and disengaged it. It should be a #15 fuse that's connected to the stock head cables, or troubleshoot using a circuit tester.. From the angle you're holding the connectors they don't look like they were cut.
  15. Very expensive depending if you can actually find the 6sp tranny. they're pretty rear so expect to pay $7-10 for the two.
  16. wow, that's amazing. I had the same piston ring seal issue with my LS. Be careful with NAPA. When I going through the same problem they gave me a Supra caliper. It didn't fit off-course
  17. call it your freshmen initiation.
  18. :D Wow, we haven't had a LOC meet anywhere in at least 3 years. If we can get some more members to agree we can start something-up before WInter.
  19. Don't think so. Usually when the brakes get really hot, I'd look at the fluid. ABS is just a sensor. Is your ABS light on?
  20. I don't think it's the ECU yet. any luck with the compression test? btw I never asked you whether the timing belt was okay, is it? Also, disconnect your factory alarm and try to start it. This could be the problem.
  21. Didn't really like the bushing kits out there. They squeak. Suggest swapping for TRD or Supra Control Arms; they usually run about $350 a pair for the lower, but that might not be true anymore.
  22. For a tune-up, plugs, wires, and rotor and distributor should be the primary items. suggest using Denso's because i've had problems with Bosch in the past.
  23. ANYONE??? Its really annoying me, i have a practically new bulb in there. It starts out at the right speed (still blinking dim) and then speeds up. The rear turn signal also speeds up but is not dim. It sounds like there's a short somewhere. check your tail light signal and see if you have a bad bulb. Did you have this problem before or after your housing swap?
  24. Okay. This is my opinion. From the surface pics you're showing of the SC looks okay to buy, but you need to tell us whether it is mechanically sound. Also how much rust is on the car, and why was the engine rebuilt? If you don't care, then go ahead and consider buying it. I would still suggest having it mechanically checkout by a trusted mechanic or a toyota/Lexus Dealer. Remember you're investing into your buy.
  25. open your trunk, and gently remove the upper trim and trunk lining. It's held on by snap-in screws. Use a flat head small screw-driver. That will expose the three or four screws holding the tail-lights. there aren't any screws holding the lens but the ones for the housing. Good luck
