  1. I successfully used the loading.kwi file from the 5.1 Navi DVD to load and use the data from the 9.1 Navi update for a Gen 5 system today. I found that the easiest way to make sure that the system completely reloaded was to pull the battery positive lead. The Radio 1 fuse disabled the screen, but the Navi was not powered down. The Radio 2 fuse didn't do it either. It was simple to simply pull the positive battery lead -- and then reset the clock in the car and reset the seat memory. When the system reloads properly, you get a message saying that the DVD is being reviewed. I didn't have any problems utilizing a Verbatium DVD +R DL.
  2. I created a 7.1 hybrid using the 5.1 loading file with no issues on a Generation 5 Lexus Navi. The media was a Verbatium DVD +R DL that I purchased at Best Buy. I burned it on a HP computer of recent vintage using the "click to DVD" software supplied as OEM software. I created a double layer "closed" data DVD. I burned the DVD at the speed specified by the media (5X). I can override the motion lockout as described in multiple posts elsewhere. I don't know yet whether the same technique works on a 9.1 update. I'm going to try.
  3. I've NEVER reliably heard ANY loading file being successfully mearged with any data base past 6, but you can always keep trying. The world needs more coasters. :P
  4. Has anyone successfully created a hybrid DVD from the 9.1 update that retains the over-ride for motion lockout from the 5.1 update? I read elsewhere that users with Generation 5 Navi systems were successfully using 7.1 data with the old 5.1 software that includes the over-ride feature.
