  1. Thanks and it's very helpful. I'm able to install the HID conversion kit with a little modification on the metal clips with less than 1-1/2 hours. Thank you once again and the lights look great
  2. Hey cduluk, I purchased the Extreme Slim Xenon HID Conversion kit. It's with H7 bulbs and color temperature is 6500K. Don't know how it look until it's hook up.
  3. Does anyone know how to install a HID conversion kit on a 2001 ES300? I am having trouble securing the HID bulb onto the housing. The original bulb is plug into this adapter which is secured to the housing by the metal clip. The HID bulb doesn't plug into the adapter, therefore, the metal clip is just too loose without using the adapter. Appreciated if someone can show step-by-step with pictures on how this can be done. Thanks in advance.
  4. Got the new MAF sensor and installed plus clear the codes. After driving half a tank of gas, the CEL and Trac Off lights still come on but this time the codes are P0172 (System too rich Bank 1) & P0175 (System too rich Bank 2). I most likely have to bring the car in to the dealer and find out exactly what's wrong with it. Hope the damage isn't too bad so it doesn't cost me an arm and leg.
  5. Hi Lexlogic, Thank you so much for your findings and suggestions. Looks like there are a lot of things that can cause the problem. I already ordered a new MAF sensor and I will give that a try first and see if that will take care of the problem. Do you know if there's a specific area I should look into if both P0171 (system too lean bank 1) & P0174 (system too lean bank 2) are pulled from the scanner? Thanks again!
  6. Finally found it and hope this will help others who want to change the cabin air filter too. The filter(s) are under and behind the center console. One would have to pull the carpet on the center console from the driver side. All you have to do is to pull the tab and both (upper and lower) cabin air filters will come out. When putting back the filters you would have to push the upper filter up and then push in the lower filter right underneath the upper filter.
  7. Hi everyone, Wondering if someone has the same problem I'm having right now. I've a 2001 Lexus ES300 and just love the car. Recently my check engine light and trac off light came on at the same time. I pulled the codes and they are P0171 & P0174. Does anyone knows exactly what the problems are? I cleaned the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) with electronic cleaner and clear the codes. It came back on after couple days later. The car currently has 110,000 miles and never done the spark plugs or fuel filter change. I read some posts and people claimed it might be the faulty MAF. If anyone has any idea, your help is greatly appreciated!
  8. Hi Everyone, Does anyone knows where the cabin air filter is on a 2001 Lexus ES300? I am trying to change the cabin air filter so that it doesn't have that funky smell after I turn off the A/C. Thanks!
  9. Hello everyone, New to this forum and hope someone can give me help on this. I've a 2001 Lexus ES300 with 102,000 miles on it. I recently took the car to the dealer and have the timing belt, water pump, and drive belt changed. Everything was fine until the next day I noticed the door courtesy light, wireless remote, power door lock, clock, and trunk lid button not working. I looked at the owner's manual and found that the #10 fuse was blown. So I replaced the fuse and everything was back to normal. A day later the very same fuse blew again. I replaced a second time and guess what - it blew the next day. So I'm convinced there is short in the electrical system and took the car back to the dealer. The dealer replaced the fuse and looked at the electrical system. They couldn't find anything wrong with electrical. I took the car back and everything seemed to be fine. Took the car to work the next day and drove for an hour I noticed the clock is out but everything is still working. I got home after work and found the remainings stop working. Check the #10 fuse and sure enough is blown. Getting really frustrated and really need some help on this. The ES300 is extremely comfortable and nice to drive around. I never thought this fuse is giving me such headache.
  10. Hi Miaaxo, I know you post this over 4 years ago. I am wondering if you ever find out what the problem was? I'm having the exact same issue with my 2001 ES300. Before all this happened, I took my car to the dealer to replace timing belt, water pump and drive belt. After the service I am experiencing the same problem you have. I replaced the 7.5 amp fuse and it will blow after driving the car for a day. I replaced the same fuse the 2nd time and it blew again. I took the car back to the dealer and have them look at it. They said they couldn't find any electrical issue. I tried google online but no luck. If you had this problem resolved your help is greatly appreciated :D
