  1. So i checked my spark plugs yesterday, and the tips were black and yes most people would say that they are junk i agree, but the reason was my engine was running rich. I looked at the tail pipe and it was black and has carbon all over it. So im not thinking it is actually and oxygen sensor, maybe even my catalytic converter. If you have any idea let me know.. I would like some advise before I attempt to tackle this problem.
  2. 1998 es300 im the 3rd owner, purchased about a month ago they owned vehicle from lease in 01 till 2010. 162k miles lexus premium sound well maintained leather no tears or rips, hardly any wear lines car is gold or the toyota tan, with the tan leather. All tune up done about 3k ago, breaks all the way around, timing chain, alternator, radiator - All done at Northtown Lexus - Buffalo NY. Car was first bought from there original owner, then the second got it previously used in 01 and I bought it from them for $3500. Rides like it still is on the show room floor. Nothing wrong at all everything power works amazing. I have owned the car for only about a month, but Im considering sticking with lexus till I die, nothing else compares as I went from a 98 Grand Prix to a 98 es300 and you couldnt tell they were the same year. Im amazed by the difference. My insurance is about 1000/year. I am having only one problem im hoping someone in this forum can help me with, check my post pleaseeeee. 06/15..... Other then that I love my car and will definately post pictures so you all can tell me what you think. Mods 17" black w/chrome lip rims with Kumho tires Plans 1 1000 watt JL audio amp with 1 12" JL w7 5% tint all the way around magnaflow exhaust, possibly dual tip looking but havent found for my year HID/angel eye head lights - let me know if you know where to get some
  3. I was driving the other day, and noticed my cel came on and was blinking. However when I told a few of my friends who were mechanics they assumed my car was running bad. I was getting my 17" rims and tires mounted and figured I would just have them read my code, as it was free. It came back and the mechanic was shaking his head. He then asked me if I am feeling a lack in power/acceleration. I told him no, and he then asked if I was sputtering or staling at anytime. My car doesnt drive any different so I dont know where to start to tackle this problem. I was told by a Lexus dealership from the previous owner it would be around $300 to fix. I have the inspection till January 2011 so being a little mechanically abled I figured I could try and see what others think I should start with. I was told to start with plugs and possibly wires. Then next if that didnt cure the problem, go with new coil packs. I looked online today and I am going to try and get some injector cleaner, someone had posted that was a solution. If you have any idea what will help me cure my es300 of a cel code, please post replies... Thanks
