  1. While not familiar with florida laws... i would highly recommend that you place into writing to your dealership owner, general manager and office manager the exact issue as you see it (factual)... then put your proposed solution. at end of letter, politely state that if problem is not immediately fixed, that you will file an official complaint with your State Automotive Department, in California we call it the Department of Motor Vehicles. I represent many car dealerships in CA as part of my professional business, and i know how "scared" they are of DMV here... good luck. CVEP1994 2000 LX 470 1996 ES 300
  2. Good day all, i purchased a 2000 LX 470 with 38k about 4 weeks ago. posted on here and a couple days later decided to buy Lexus Platinum Warranty (which goes 3 more years or 100k total miles)... it cost about $2600... well, the day after i bought it, i had a long road trip for biz... heard most annoying rattle from the rear seat... took it back to dealer, they had three guys go out in it to look (driver, and one guy each laying on floors to listen) they heard it immediately. turns out is was a defective seat track, not only annoying in rattle but maybe even safety hazard... well, Lexus ordered new one, installed, provided warranty, whole nine yards, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. i own 2 lexus, i guess that makes me a LEXI owner... 96 es 300 (91K) and 00 lx 470... go with dealer warranty, more expensive, sure but well... go with the best and they will treat you great! good luck.
  3. cant say i have any with mine, LX 470 2000 with 39k miles but i live in palm springs, so a very cold morning means its 79 degrees! sorry cant be of help!
  4. Good Day LX 470 fans, anyone out there used the TRD Supercharger on the 4.7liter engine yet? I have 2000 LX 470, 39k miles, looking for more power... to create an escalade burner! anyone have any stories to share? if so, how much did you pay, who installed, price to install, warranty issues, performance bonus??? thanks cvep. 5. A word about CPO... I bought my first Lexus in 99 (a 96 ES 300 with 27k miles), purchased CPO for $19,999 (seriously)... its 2004, and i still drive that 96 ES.. now it has 91k miles... the dealer that services it (not same that i bought at) treats me very well. in fact one time we had issue with sunroof and parts were a bear, well.. wife was headed to beachhouse for the week, dealer said take the RX 300 for a week, "we'll see you when you get back"... now thats service... we buy a Lexus because of what we want and what it stands for, luxury, quality, durability, style and we choose CPO for service and professionalism... remember the Hyundai dealership is there for those on a budget, but we spend a few more $ to get the Lexus standard. P.S., i now have a CPO LX 470 with 38k miles and expect same experience! the old adage quality costs money is rings true.
  6. I purchased a 2000 LX 470 last Sunday evening from an auto broker, vehicle had 38,000 miles on it, and perfect condition... after a little research (not much though) i decided that the relationship that I have with my lexus dealer is GREAT, i mean GREAT... they have been servicing my ES 300 (1996) for 5 years... long story short, Lexus offered a 7 year 100,000 "bumber to bumber" (even fresh starbucks coffee in waiting room) for $2,675... higher then the private guys, yes, but you know that Lexus is Lexus is Lexus, the extra $800 to $1000 is great piece of mind!
  7. i now own two lexus... 00 lx470 and 96es300... i have had es for 5 years now, and have over 90k miles, my lexus dealership still treats me like i just bought a new one... hence why i opted for new lx470 over landcruiser or other toyota product. the extra $ paid means less hassle which puts me on the road running my business not standing at enterprise rental waiting for a car to show up!
  8. thanks for help, i bit bullet too, gave lexus $2,675 for extended to 100k, great piece of mind and since through lexus, i know it will be good. thanks again.
  9. Good Day All... I have just purchased my second Lexus. I have purchased a 2000 LX 470 with 39,000. Beautiful Car... I purchased from independent broker (whom said and carfax seems to verify was bought by him at lease return auction). Car is perfect in every way.... how do I get a warranty? through Lexus Dealer? through Third-Party? Is current warranty (powertrain 6/70,000) automatically transferable? btw, my other lexus is a 96 ES 300 I purchased as lease return (CPO), great car, no problems other then cracked leather seat. Please help! cvep1994atyahoo.com :D
