  1. I'm getting new tires next week and i've read the posts and I know that the Toyos Proxes TPT V rated are most popular ones but what about the size of the tire? I have stock rims with 205/65-15 on them but those 205 looks soo skinny and whimpy. Can I get some 225s without causing any rubbing? how bout sidewall height, do i have to go up or down on that? Would i hurt the handling or the comfort of the ride if i do go with a wider tire. Ive seen 215/60-15 and 225/60-15 at tirerack. Would these work on my stock rims? Any suggestions would be cool. thanks guys
  2. I want to purchase a paint pen to dab on my chip marks on hood and bumper but I dont know my color code. Where can I find that code? I looked in the manual and it didnt say. I think its 202 (black lexus) but I want to be sure. thanks
  3. what are the ohms on the stock rear door speakers (6x9) on a 97 ES 300? want to replace them with aftermarket pioneers but dont know whether to get 2 ohms or 4 ohms thanks
  4. hey thanks 98oyster I'll call crutchfield first thing monday. would you know if i could install the factory changer myself or should i take it to a dealer. I hear dealers can be expensive. Id rather try and DIY it if its not too hard. thanks again
  5. My headunit has a CD button but no CD changer in glove compartment or trunk. I'm going to the junkyard saturday to find me one. Is it hard to install myself or do i have to take it to dealer? Can i place it in the glove compartment with a few screws or do i need a kit? Or would it just make sense to buy an aftermarket changer? I really want to keep it as stock as possible. I also wanted to change my back door speakers (6x9 right?) with aftermarket pioneeers but i have a choice between 2 ohms and 4 ohms. Which do i pick that'll work with stock radio? What are the ohms on the stock speakers that are there now? What's an ohm? <--dont have to answer that. lol Thanks a million guys
  6. Hey thanks for the part link. But could I change the whole panel, panel with radio and a/c (thought it was called headunit) with a newer model one? Is that all one piece that I could just take off and plug in another one? And if so, would it make sense to do it ( better radio, nicer look). Around my shifter and the ashtray its got the wood grain look but around the radio and a/c the panel is all black. I want the wood grain look all around. How can I do that?? If i'm way off please tell me. :)
  7. Hi all. Very new to the lexus club. Just got my first lexus last week ( 97 es300 black on black) but my station display of my radio is bleeding. I Can hardly see LCD. Is that normal and is there a way to fix that? Can I just change the display/radio or do I have to change the whole headunit? If I do change the whole headunit, could I put in a newer model headunit like from a 2000 es300?? Would the newer Headunit have a better radio? I have a CD button on my headunit but It didn't come with a cd player. I really want to improve my system but nothing crazy. Not planning on installing a woofer. I've read in the forum that I should leave the front speakers alone which I plan to do but I want to replace the ones in the back. Any recommendations?? If my car liingo sounds retarded its cause I'm soo new to this so please forgive. I've been up these few days just reading the forum trying to learn about the beautiful lexus and you guys seem great and helpful.
