I don't think it was the hot day and cold water. The seals around those front headlights often go bad. Mine did the same thing. Water and condensation stayed in it for weeks until I took it in to the dealer. In fact the glass often fades a dirty gray color which some people supposedly grind down with light sandpaper then buff it out. As for me I just bought a new, very expensive replacement. But when you are trying to keep your car at it's best it's worth it. I replaced one headlight because of your issue with the seal and another one because of the fading problem.

I took the my 97 sc4 into dealer today and showed him phone cradle and manuel. He told me what BMan113 knew, that it is analog and useless. Thanks for the info though. He also said that they went digital in 98. Take care

Thanx for the responses folks. But i wanted to use the handsfree aspect of my car phone. I definitely agree that i need to update but what would be compatible with the handsfree aspect through the steering wheel and stereo? What would be the best update? By the way i never had the phone hooked up but was planning on doing it soon. And it is a 97-SC400. Thanx LIONSCOURT

I don't know but i never drive my car until it is warmed up. This leads to less maintenance costs in the long run. I haven't had one problem with my sc400 in the three years i've had it (knock on wood). How many miles do you have? My has 95k and no such problem. LIONSCOURT

Exactly, If the owner or dealer didn't take care of the interior, thats a good sign it was not a well-maintained car. I wouldn't take the chance but given that it has 192,000 miles on it some of that is just wear and tear. I bought a sc400 several years ago and the inside was immaculate (64,000 miles) and I have not had one problem and it still looks perfect at 95,000k. I have taken great cares to maintain the leather and the engine. Of course when i bought it i checked out everything and Lexus owners tend to take care of their babies don't we guys!!!!!! LIONSCOURT

My Lexus Portable Plus Cell Phone was stolen along with my backpack. Anybody know where i can purchase another one. I already have a integrated system just need the mobile flip phone that fits in the middle cradle. LIONSCOURT
