  1. mrsel3, Try clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor. This sensor gets dirty and doesn't allow enough gas in, and the check engine light come on at higher RPM. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...t=0entry75467 Good luck.
  2. 82DMC12, I got the same problem with 171 code, so I clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the problem went away. I'm 90% sure you have the same problem.   3. RX in NC, Thank you for the head up with various sensors problems. So far I was able to clean the IACV and the MAF. No more engine check light for now, but I'm sure I will run into your problem soon (my rx300 is at 73K miles). Please keep us update with what dealer replaced on your rx300.
  4. Found it. Took out the 2 air intake hoses and the IACV locates right under them. I took out the two screws and cleaned the inside with the throttle body cleaner. The problem went away, so here is the pictures I took (IACV is the black piece with the two screws, one of them has the yellow dot on it). Thank you.
  5. My Rx300 has exact same problem, so I got read the forum and took out the 2 air intake hoses and the IACV locates right under them. I took out the two screws and cleaned the inside with the throttle body cleaner. The problem went away, so here is the pictures I took (IACV is the black piece with the two screws, one of them has the yellow dot on it). Hope this help somebody in the future.

  9. I'm trying to find the IACV on my 1999 RX300. The car stalls on cold start and I think the IACV needs to be cleaned. What is IACV look like? Please help. 8/17/04 - Found it.
