  1. My 07' Rx 400h is still a pleasure to drive with 90k on it! I'm sure it can hold up for at least another 50-60k without effort....
  2. Now that the summer season has kicked in, i will continue to use premium (93) grade and by the end of fall season, i will experiment with 91 grade!
  3. I use only BP Premium (93) gas or very rarely Shell Premium, thats it. Nothing else. initially i tried to see the difference using regular and the mid-grade fuel (91), the difference i have been able to notice is the car seems smoother and give a better mpg when using the premium plus and as recommended by auto experts, Premium is good for the engine's long life...
  4. Its really fun when you try accelerating the 400h in snowy conditions... the annoying TCS keeps beeping and i keep pushing it further when my car loses traction... thats when the computer kicks in and cuts the power until the car straightens itself out!! I drove my poor car a lot this past winter and the maximum snow i drove in was abt. 2feet without a hitch....!!!!!! love my Rx 400h!! Yaaayyy!!
  5. Yeah, i'm gonna visit another local guy nearby and get his input.... Why the hell do the dealerships wanna rip your wallet off when you take your car for maintenance checks?!?!? seriously!
  6. I live in New Jersey and see some snow every year if not for the last crazy winter when it was mad! May be that gives way to some salt scraping against the rotors because i love to take my 400h for a spin in the snow! The rep. at Lexus dealership said the the rotor is at the end of its lifecycle and is worn out.... so, the replacement... but i did not get the logic of replacing only the rotors and not the brakes because the pads "cling" onto the rotor to stop the car and i always thought the rotors were thicker than the pads! May be i'm wrong..
  7. At my last servicing interval (85,000 miles) for my 2007 Rx 400h, the rep said brake pads were in "ok" shape but that both front and rear rotors HAVE TO BE CHANGED! The estimate for all 4 rotors was upwards of $1,500! I said i would get it done later and now i'm approaching the next servicing interval of 90,000 miles and considering replacing the rotors myself. Checked the replacement spares on a few online stores and everything included the cost is not more than $450-$500... Is it usual for rotors to be replaced before the pads?? Also, i use the "B" mode to slow down.... may be that also is a contributing factor in extending the brake pads/rotors life... just a thought.... Gotta decide in the next couple of weeks to either do it myself or burn a hole in my pocket!!
  8. Greetings fellow Lexus owners!!!! I have a 2007 Rx400h which soon needs its 90K servicing and I just wanted to get a heads up from you all of the impending "expense" to my pocket!!! I've always had regular maintenance checks except for one delayed service @75k :cries: and all were at Lexus of Edison, NJ. Hopefully, this would be just a regular maintenance!! fingers crossed.... Have a great day folks!
