you can find a used 2001-2004 still under full warranty w/low miles(10-15k mi) in $38k +/- range. Lexus basic warranty is awesome, they will fix almost anything. ;)

Glad you found prob. Just curious-did your daughter drive it at 7000-8000RPM because it was stuck in first gear or did the tach just say that. If so, yikes-Looks like you won't have any carbon build up. :D

my 95 had grinding when accelerating when it needed cv's. is it worst on slight turn.

it seems like everything at lextech is geared to SC's. I have a 95es w/dying tach and gas gauge. Has anyone removed an es cluster & sent it to them?

cool-thanks the only thing wrong w/car is that it's got that damn front end shake-pretty bad,from like 35mph even w/ new tires. It does still have full warrty though thanks again

I have a 95es that had similar prob. After you drove it for about an hour or more the air would start blowing warm. Also started to blow warm out of driver's side vent first. If you drove under hour air blew ice cold. I took it to my mechanic and he found no prob as it was an intermittent prob. I finally got it to act up near his shop & went right there. He checked and it showed a BAD EXPANSION VALVE. I made an appoitment to get fixed. When I brought it in for repair it was blowing ice cold in 90 degree weather. But the fix worked!

I drove a 2000 gs 400 for sale today w/36000miles. Compared to my 2001 gs430 w/22700miles it seemed to be a bit slower. I didn't get to run it to hard because the sales lady was with me. So I think I answered my own ?, but then I looked at Lexus website under preowned and they have specs from older models. According to them, the 99 & 00 gs400 run 14.3 quarter mi and gs430 runs 14.5. What the #*@!

I was looking at a second gs for my wife today. It's a platinum ed. white gs4 w/36k for 27,000. It has a slight left to right shake in front at 40mph range. Any ideas what that could be(Some kind of bushing?) Car does still have a few months basic warranty Also, who knows what the plat package included in 2000? It seemed to have extra wood style stick on stuff all over radio, instruments etc.. Is that factory or did someone add? Looks cheesey. thanks

it may very well be the alternator,BUT my 95 es had similar symptoms and is was JUST BATTERY. Even though the alternater was perfect it would not drive w/dead battery. Would start from jump, but as soon as you put in drive and hit gas it would die. Should be easy for mechanic to diagnose. Let us know.

my stock 95 es's rear speakers both totally quit working. when I fade to just rear total silence anyone else had this prob or know what to check? I didn't see any loose wires at amp under passenger seat

my 95 es would not run with dead battery even after jump. it would run but when you hit gas it would die. gauges acted wierd too. new battery fixed everything.

The diff between a stock gs3 and gs430 is unreal. Gs 430 is Quiet and pulls hard. Even a stock 98+ gs400 would probably do you right for the amount you would put in a gs300 and still be slower than a stock 430 or 400. I love my 430 and I test drove about 5 gs300s(2000,three2001s and a brand new gs3). It also seemed to me like the 2000 gs3 was faster than the 01s. The first 430 I drove I bought. $27000 for an 01 w /22,000 miles. Just my opinion

I guess his bulletin from toyota is wrong-Yah OK. I trust my friend & parts guy from toyota for ten years. If you want to pay an extra $15 for a gallon of distilled water mix w/coolant go ahead

from what I understand you cant use it in vehicles that have had red in them

I just looked at the top of my radiator after a coolant flush and guess what> it says TOYOTA 2004. My car is a 1995 and I have had it for last 4 yrs. So Hammer: Change the coolant-you are all original.
