Hi all, Need some guidance here... in the unfortunate event that comeone cracked the front passenger side rear view mirror of my 2004 RX330. The motor and housing seems fine.. it should only be the mirror which needs replacing .. quote from the dealer costs approx $500 parts alone. I have the following questions: - searching via ebay there are couple of passenger used parts. I am thinking as I only need the mirror and colour trim of the casing to me is not an issue. However apparently I have done some research and seems like the parts (not sure if they are talking about the full housing or just the mirror)has 2 different ones... one is "with memory" and the other "without memory".. if I am just replacing the mirror... does this make a different? Just not sure whether there is any electrical function built in the mirror? I am assuming there is some connector to the actual mirror itself to provide for the heating/memory feature.. or isit the wiring is actually to a motor and the mirror just clip to the motor... I am confused... - How easy is it to replace the mirror only? Dealer told me it is difficult as you might break the mirror (or the mechanical parts) when you try to pop it in ? - Anyone have a assembly diagram on the side mirror assembly? - Also apparently some of the greenish gel from the mirror gets to the body Any help is much appreciated... Hi , I had the same error a while back. It went away at one time when I start my engine... but then behave erratically, sometime ok , but sometimes the error came backa again. I took it to the dealer and they end up replacing the end unit (warranty). They were saying it was because I was playing some CD-R which the unit maynot be capable of reading. Hope this helps.

Hi, It seems like the auto climate control in my 04 RX is always on med speed. Let say the ambient temperature is 26C , I have to always dial the setting to 32C in order to turn down the fan to face and feet (which I considered as equilibrium setting). Anyone know if this can be adjusted (I think there is some customization available in CBEST, but can I DIY). Also as a side ntoe... how do you now if one has the latest ECU software patch ( for fixing the hesitation issue)... other then doing to the dealer for a service history Thanks.

Catking, You'll have to request for the fix. I think they will only do the fix if you complain about the "hesitation". Hope this helps.

Just a quick updates after my maintenance visits for those interested: - Yes there is a "hesitation fix" for both RX and the ES in Canada. I've applied the update and the car is much more responsive now. - Wind noise in front passenger and drive fix with replacement of new weatherstripping (per bulletin) - Believe it or not, my service advisor points to me about the fact that while the exterior temp guage is certainly in "degree celcius", the individual temp setting for driver and passenger is not in "degree celcius" but moreso like a numeric scale (as is if you notice , there is not unit of measurements next to them). So if you are thinking setting the temp to say equal to the external temp and thinking that the fan speed etc... should come down, it may not as the "25" you set may not be the same as "25 degree celcius" showing as external. That explain why there is always this delay in the fan speed coming down. Cheers! BA

Hi, I have a 2004 RX330 (bought Oct 2004)and have the following questions: - Did anyone experience, the retractable cover seems to be rubbing on the liftgate and leaving marks. Also, the automatic retractable feature sometimes doesn't work that well and the cover falls off the track while retracting - Anyone in Canada apply the fix for the hesitation (if there is any)? - I am due for the 2nd service i.e. the first owner payable service. I think the service manager mentioned that as long as I bring in the car before the 16000km, he can have my brakes service (whatever that entails) under warranty. I think the visit will cost be approx $250cdn. Does it worth it or should I just opt for the oil and filter change only? - I heard that there is a supposingly fix for the "excessive" wind noise, anyone in Canada apply the fix? - In auto mode, it seems like the air con like to blast for an extended period of time. e.g. external temp 25 degree , you set desired temp to 30 degree or so .. the air con will still run for a long period of time untill it slows down to a lower fan speed. Anyone experience that? Kind of annoying cause when you turn down the fan speed, the auto mode is gone rendering "auto" kind of not practical. Thanks in advance!! ;)

Hi, Just curious to know now that the 400h is officially in production... how would you decide which one is the better car to get, from an overall perspective? I would imagine that this similar to a V6 vs V8 kind of decision. Would like to hear especially from the current 330 owners in regarding to your thoughts on the 400h released? Would you be jealous and wished you get the 400h instead :cries: or you have a different way of looking at it?

Hi, Just want to get some feedback/comments from anyone who has the Performance/Sport package (i.e. 18" rim, sport hydraulic suspension and adaptive headlights) and/or the Adaptive (AFS) headlights? I am trying to make a decision and am not sure if these are worth the money. Thanks in advance

Rickebob, Hi, did you manage to get it programmed? I've been trying to program the homelink to recognize my "condominium" gate opener for the past week and still it is not working. I've tried programming my grandparent's Condo gate opener and it was so easy and it recognized the signal quite easily. But with mine, I keep pausing and pressing my remote (while holding homelink button)... it just would not recognize (i.e. fast blink)... but instead started to slowly blinks blink after 15-20sec then slowly blinks for another 20 sec or so then off. Anyone who can comment on this?

Hi , Thinkiing of leasing a 04 RX330 but have the following questions: 1. Is the Sport package worth the $? I test drove a sport package loaded RX but couldn't really tell the handling difference contributed by the larger wheel and the lowered suspension. I am trying to decide between the premium and the sport now, but don't see the reason for spending extra $3000 when I can't tell the difference. Is there really any difference in terms of handling? 2. My sales rep told me that AFS only works at low speed is this true? I think this is also bundled with the sport package so I would like to know if this is worth it. 3. Anyone know what is a reasonable purchased price (% of MSRP) for the RX in Canada (Toronto)? I am particularly interested in the Sport or premium loaded. Any info is appreciated to help with my negotiation. 4. The most popular question... should I wait for the 05? Was looking at a previous thread of the 05 changes, there doesn't seem to be anysignificant changes vs 04 i.e. no cosmetic changes, some mods to the Nav system... I think that's it... don't think any of those will impact me if I chose an 04 with the Sport/premium package. So any suggestion if I should wait for the 05? (currently they have a lease rate offer on the 04 too, so it really makes the 04 very attractive) Thanks kindly!
